Tilly : Ready for rehoming

Tilly is looking for love

Would you love a cuddly lap dog as a companion

Please do read all the following information fully before submitting an application

If you do not match all the criteria, please do not apply, thank you

Location North Yorkshire post code area YO61 ,please note you will be expected to carry out several meet and greets in this location

Little Tilly is looking for her forever home, this is due to her lovely owner not being able to manage the attention she so requires, due to poor health

Tilly’s owner believes Tilly needs a home where she gets more exercise, stimulation and more attention

Her owner loves Tilly dearly ,but with Tilly’s owners own personal health issues arising ,Tilly deserves more than what she is getting at present

Tilly can be a little shy and nervous to start with, but once she gains your trust you will have a wonderful companion

Once she gets to know you ,your lap will become her best friend, where she can enjoy lots of strokes and love

Whilst out and about Tilly can get anxious around larger dogs ,and she likes to share her voice to them by barking ,but this is improving day by day ,and her owner wanted us to state this fact

Her nervous barking could be due to the following factors :-

Small dogs bark at larger dogs primarily out of fear, using barking as a way to create distance from what they perceive as a threatening presence. Other factors include lack of socialization, leading to anxiety maybe negative past experience with a larger dog; and an owner's own anxiety being transmitted to the dog. Some small breeds may also exhibit inherent traits of bravery and tenacity, or their owners might inadvertently reinforce the behavior by giving them a sense of false confidence or by picking them up, creating a sense of protection but hindering true social skills

This behaviour can be corrected ,with constancy ,patience, kindness and time

Tilly’s temperament:-

Very loving, cuddly, placid. She is very nervous (of other dogs but this is improving, umbrellas, scooters, vacuum cleaners and unfamiliar objects). However, she can tolerate walking along a busy road with lots of traffic.

Tilly has never ever shown any aggressive traits and has never bitten

Tilly is very obedient most of the time. She will come when called ,stay still in one place when instructed etc. The only thing owner can't stop her from doing, is barking at cats, other dogs (either through the window or when they appear a threat), birds/squirrels in the garden.

Tilly likes her food and tends to beg for human food ,shows she has a good appetite

Doodle Aids Requirements

We are looking for a quiet home for Tilly, she would suit an active ,energetic retired couple ,or a family with older dog savvy children

Tilly loves the outdoors and enjoys her exercise

She needs people at home with her for most of the time,as she loves to be around humans

Tilly can live with older children 12 plus that are dog savvy

Dog Free Home Only

Absolutely no cats ,as she will bark at them

Persons willing to put in some training ,and socialising skills

Full secure garden ,if you have gates they must have a lock in place

If you have any holidays planned please state on your application form

Meet Tilly

Type Cavapoo

Born September 2020

Colour Apricot

Female whom has been spayed ,never been used as a breeding bitch

Height 11.5 inches

Weight 4.5 Kgs

Microchipped

Booster vaccination due January 2026

Flea/tick and wormer will be administered in October 2026

Tilly is in good health,no known allergies

Grooming

Tilly has curly coat but not tight curls, only sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount

Home grooming routine :- Clean teeth (about three times a week); clean round eyes (every few days, or more), brush (occasionally - depending on how long the fur gets) brushed at home regularly not overly keen but tolerates the brushing

Tilly’s owner tends to have her groomed (professionally) every 12-16 weeks, though recently they have had her trimmed very close to her body, meaning it takes about 4 months to grow out.)

This was due to the fact it’s was easier for her owner to take care of Tilly’s coat.

Exercise

Two walks - if possible about 1-2 miles each. Tilly really enjoys her walks (if there are no other dogs around - as can be reactive around some dogs ,but this is improving her owner states

She has lots of energy and could walk much further. Her owner is finding it increasingly difficult to manage walking Tilly further

If only has the use of the garden ,she will bark and with barking comes noise which may attract unwanted attention

She needs more exercise and stimulation in her life ,along with some quiet rest time

Interaction with dogs when out :- She is nervous of any unfamiliar dogs and will tend to bark at them and cower. She is OK with dogs she knows well, but certainly won't play with them. We not sure if she is overprotective of her owner (hence the barking when she sees unfamiliar dogs) or nervous herself. (Owner believes the latter because she was chased by two big black labradors when she was very young.) She certainly doesn't like big dogs, especially black ones

Owner states Tilly has improved around many dogs

Further Information

Tilly is fairly well socialised, she goes out with her owner to visit cafes and meet friends. She is happy as long as she is there and she can sit on her knee.

Tilly is very much a people dog and not a dogs dog so much

Some would say she is a bit like Velcro with her current owner ,who she adores

Tilly is toilet trained ,but we always state when any dog enters a new and strange environment they might have an accident

At bedtime Tilly sleeps on her owners bed

We do advise her new owner to spend the first few nights with her to settle her ,as Tilly needs this reassurance

Tilly’s owner can leave her for two hours ,but we do advise take this steady as she may not like being left alone at first

She has never been destructive in her home

Never been crate trained

Tilly travels well in the car, sits on the front seat with a secure dog safety harness

Tilly does not particularly like the water - though she tolerates having a bath

Dislikes :- Anything unfamiliar; other dogs (especially large ones - particularly if they're black); sudden noises, cats, birds and squirrels

Likes :- Soft animals, three very small rubber balls. She will throw them around, but best of all likes it when I hold the soft animals and move them around quickly. She tries to pounce on them or chase them

Owners notes

Tilly is a very loving dog who likes nothing better than to snuggle up on your knee. She is extremely attached to her owner (However, she is extremely nervy and her owner is finding that her barking at objects and her nervousness with some dogs is getting too much)she loves her dearly ,but feels no longer able to provide her with the sort of home and stimulating environment she needs. Her owner feels she is letting her down and she needs much more. She is absolutely adored by people who know them ,but does not feel it would be fair on her to rehome her anywhere nearby. She needs a new start, with loving, caring people who can give her the attention, love, support, reassurance and consistency she needs. Tilly was given a close cut when she was groomed three weeks ago, so she doesn't look her best at the moment. Owner has included a photo (taken a few days ago ) She looks absolutely adorable when the fur has grown - very much like a teddy bear.

It will soon grow back,it’s only hair ……

We believe in a different environment with new people Tilly will gain more confidence,if her new owners succeed her expectations she requires

Doodle Aid will do our upmost to help Tilly’s owner find the right home for her little girl,as we always aim to find the best match

It’s a sad story but we are certain Tilly’s forever home is awaiting her

If you live in rented accommodation we,we will require documentation that a dog can live in your property

The potential applicant will be subjected to a our full vetting and we will ask for a visual homecheck

The adoption fee for Tilly is £250.00 ,this goes back into the charity to help with costs of foster dogs

Archie sleeps in his own dog bed at night ( please do settle him with yourself nearby the first few nights) new,y rescued dogs can get very upset with being alone and the change around them

Archie has never been left on his own in his home

Archie has never been crate trained

Travels well in the car ,a car restraint must be used on any dog travelling please

Luna : NOW ADOPTED

NOW ADOPTED

If you do not meet all the criteria, please do not apply, thank you

Location Leicestershire Post Code Area LE67 ,you will be expected to carry out as many meet and greets as we request ,in this location

Little Luna is looking for persons or person with experience to help with her social skills, and management with resource guarding.

Luna is a pocket rocket full of mischief ,highly alert ,comes with bags of energy

Sadly Luna has found herself in a environment whereby her owner is struggling with their own health battles ,as well as living with a Son with learning issues, who does not understand Luna’s body language

This is having profound effect on all involved in the household, especially Luna.

Luna spends a good portion of time in her crate, during the day and at night

She has not had regular exercise since July, for many reasons including being nervous around traffic and owners health issues as stated previously

They have come to the hard decision that Luna needs far more than they can give her,and want to do the best for everyone involved

Luna’s Behaviour

Luna is still only a very young dog, full of life and vigor, just needs some tweaking and guidance to help her in the big wide world

Will resource various items she should not have, mostly floopy items, such as clothes, towels etc

Luna thinks this is a great game ,but recently has shown her teeth and growled ,when she had an item that could have been toxic if swollowed

They are managing this more by swapping with cheese and tasty treats ,but it’s hard with the Son in the home as he does not always see the cue’s

NOTE she does not guard her own toys or her food

Whilst out on her walks she pulls and barks at some dogs, and hates traffic (this would need some gentle TLC to address this in her new home)

Luna is an anxious little girl, lacking in social skills, needs more time spent with her giving her attention, more exercise and stimulation, along with rest time

We believe in the right environment, with people willing to train her further, with time, love and patience she will bloom, into a wonderful four legged friend

Doodle Aids Requirements

LUNA IS NOT SUITABLE FOR A FIRST TIME DOG OWNER

Luna needs a home with people whom are energetic/ active

Experienced around dogs with some behavioural issues ,and willing to guide Luna for the future

Dog free home only

We will consider a home with older dog savvy children aged 13 and above

This is due to some resource guarding ,and Luna is still very bouncy

No cats

We are happy to place Luna in a home with a behaviourist support ,with some sessions to help the new owners going forward,if required

But you must be prepared to all work together ,team work is dream work !

If you have any holidays planned ,please state on your application form

Meet Luna

Type F1 Mini Labradoodle

Colour Ebony

Owner has owned Luna since a puppy

Born January 2024

Female who is spayed (not used for breeding )

Height 16 inches approximately

Weight 11.4 Kgs

Microchipped

Booster vaccination due 2026

Note Luna is allergic to a Flea / tick treatment /wormer

Netgard disagrees with Luna ,started shaking after administered, vet popped her on steroids for a short period to resolve issue.

Not used this item since and no reoccurring issues

Owner had one issue about 11 months ago, after she had been given wormer, flea treatment etc at same vet visit. Luna had tremors - described by vet as shaker syndrome. Treated with steroids. After that we started her on the rescue remedy treats & have had no issues since. Also have not given her wormer or flea treatment since

Grooming

Luna has a wavy coat, sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount

She is brushed at home weekly, not overly keen but to,erases the process

Groomed at a Professional Groomers without any issues, every 3 months approximately

Exercise

Mainly in home & garden as owner can no longer physically able to walk her. This is starting to affect her behaviour & is their main reason for considering re homing as it is just not fair on her

Luna does not go off her lead when being walked, scared of traffic, can bark at other dogs, and pulls on her lead

They do not allow her off lead as if she ran off, they could not physically chase her due to ill health

Further Information

Luna did attend puppy and junior training school, did very well and was top of her class

Sadly with home issues they could not continue with her training

Her general obedience is fair could do with more support in her new home

Luna is a happy, fun loving, very affectionate girl, just sadly she is missing out on a few things in her life, with these in place she will gain trust and confidence we are sure.

Time, love and patience, more exercise and stimulation is the key to Luna being a super star in the future.

Remember she is only a very young dog, with the rest of her life ahead of her

She is toilet trained, but accidents can occur with any dog entering into a new environment

Luna is crate trained, spends a lot of time in her crate (which we would love to see less of please)

Non destructive in home, but will look for paper and cardboard to pinch and rip up

With car travel she has only been in the car a maximum of half an hour, fine once settled in her harness

Dislikes or scared of most things as not been exposed very much in the world ,need a special person or persons to help her to say it’s ok little one

She likes the rain never been swimming

Favourite games and toys :- Spiky balls, balls, her stick toy, rope toys (but quickly destroys them), chew toys

Doodle Aid will do our upmost to help Luna’s owner find the right home for her little girl,as we always aim to find the best match

It’s a sad story ,but we are certain Luna’s forever home is just around the corner waiting for her

If you live in rented accommodation we,we will require documentation that a dog can live in your property

The potential applicant will be subjected to a our full vetting and we will ask for a visual homecheck

Rudie : Foster Needed

RESERVED

Please do read all the following information fully before considering to apply for Rudie,if you do match the requirements,do not apply

Rudie is based in BristolPost Code Area BS35 ,we would expect the potential fosters to travel and carry out several meet and greets

Rudie we cannot stress enough us dearly loved by his owners but they are find it more and more stressful dealing with some of Rudie’s behaviour

The gentleman of the household has become Rudie’s person ,and this has made things very challenging for the whole family, this shows by Rudie barking at his human Daddy for constant attention

This behaviour started at a young age and has progressed further

The gentleman worked from home a while ,then went back to work doing various shift work,we believe this could be another factor in Rudie’s behaviour ,as he waited on alert for Daddy to come home ,but was always at different times so confused the poor boy

Also the family moved a few months ago,so another huge change for Rudie

Rudie’s behaviour has been diagnosed by a behaviourist as over attachment anxiety to the gentleman of the household.

We like to point out that if Rudie is at home with his human Mummy ,there is no anxiety at all,he will play, and sleep whilst she works.

No other issues when he has stayed with other family members

The family have got an older calmer dog,but with the barking and behaviour ,they feel Rudie needs to be an only dog ,due to his attention needs

Rudie has not shown any aggressive traits ,never bitten, but can gentle mouth when over excited

No resource guarding and can be left a number of hours per day

It has been a very stressful time for the family but they feel ,they have tried many sources and feel Rudie would be best suited as an only dog , in a different environment to ease his stress levels, this was not an easy decision for them both

Doodle Aids Request’s For Fostering Rudie

You must be kind, caring and patient at all times ,as Rudie is a sensitive flower

He would suit persons working from home, whom have regular breaks to care and walk him,fit and active retired person or persons,or a homemaker without children ,no full time workers whom work away from the home

We will not rehome him with another dog ,as stated above ,he needs the care and attention to be placed on him at present

ADULT HOME ONLY ( Rudie has never lived with children ,but has let it be know by barking he does not like the noise children, toddlers and babies make)

In time with slow introductions this may get better ,but at the moment we need to concentrate on Rudie’s needs

No cats he will chase

Your home needs to be dog friendly, and your garden safe and secure

No showboating Rudie for at last a week, this means allow him to settle in your home just with you

Further Information

Rudie’s temperament :- Happy, excitable, loving, playful, vocal, can be reactive/anxious to loud noises and motor bikes etc

His general obedience is good, has attended training classes in the past

Could benefit with more social skills especially if going to pubs, cafes and restaurants as he will voice his vocal cords

Rudie can be left once settled for a few hours, whilst you attent appointments, shopping, dinners etc

He is non destructive in a home

Has been crate trained in the past ,but not in use at present

Note from his lovely owners

Rudie is a very loving and happy dog. We believe his attachment anxiety to myself are fixable and arent likley to transfer to a new person, but we unfortantley are not in the position finanically to support this and we also both work full time and worry that our lifestyle is playing a part in his behaviour. We feel a home where he has lots of space and someone who can be with him either at home or out more often than not would suit his needs well. He also may benefit from being an only dog where attention and focus is on him, this was also suggested to us by a vet

All potential applicants will be requested to have a full vetting and homecheck

If you are happy to give a reference this would be much appreciated

If you live in rented accommodation we will require documentation that a dog can live in this property

To apply to foster Rudie please click here https://www.doodleaid.com/adoption-application-form

We are a very small team ,so please bare with us if you email it may take 24 hours for a response

Jake : Now adopoted

NOW ADOPTED

Location Derby Post Code Area DE21 ,we will request you are prepared to travel ,to carry out as many meet and greets ,as requested

Introducing Jake a young Bernedoodle age 15 months

This is Jake’s second home ,due to no fault of his own

First home we believe the other dog in the home was a resource guarder ,so they rehomed Jake ,as it was not fair on Jake living with another dog with issues

His current owners are rehoming Jake ,due to changes in accommodation

Jake lives with another dog a dear little French Bulldog ,they get along wonderfully ,a bit of rough and tumble takes place but non aggressive play

This gentle giant is anxious fella, can take time to warm to male humans, but once he gains their trust he will become friends

We advise slow introductions ,without any pressure on Jake, let him come to you and let him progress at his own pace

Jake is also nervous at the groomers tries to jump out the bath, will take two persons to groom him.

It would be best to speak with an experience groomer ,before taking him into their salon

Many groomers understand some dogs can be nervous ,so they will help make the experience better for the dogs, just work together with your groomer

A good example to find a highly qualified groomer is the Groomers Spotlight

The vets also he can be nervous,he will go into the vets, but the owners sits on the floor with him, chatting and comforting him in the waiting area.

Once inside he will allow the vet to examine him

We would suggest finding an understanding vets practice and take Jake into the waiting area, many times before even seeing a vet, this is to build up his confidence.

Jake is still a young dog, still exploring the world he is now part of ,he may bounce around and jump up,get giddy and over excited.

Jake does not understand personal space ,he is your big friendly giant

He dislikes being on his own ,once he gets to know you ,will never be alone whilst Jake is in your life

Please understand Jake is a large dog, will need space and a good sized garden

Always good to progress with more training going forward,be great for bonding and great for the future of any dog

Doodle Aid’s Requirements

Jake will need a home with fit and active people ,whom are willing to put in time, love and patience for his future care

No full time workers ,as Jake’s dislikes being on his own

His current owners do take him to work some days ,in a safe and quiet environment

Can live with ONE other calm natured dog ,must be spayed or neutered and we will ask for proof from yourself ,with a vet letter please

Grooming

Jake does shed minimally,so before applying please do take this onto consideration as we do not want to rehome him,if you have dog related allergies

His coat is pretty similar to a Bernese Mountain dog, double coated with a slight wave

He will allow his owners to brush him through, but you must have some tasty treats to hand

With attending a professional groomers he can be nervous ,please work together with your groomer ,in gaining confidence for Jake’s well-being please

Exercise

Jake usually has one to two walks per day,or he is quite happy to have a rest day in the week

His new owners will need to work on recall ,so please do not take Jake off his lead until you have complete trust in his recall

Jake can get easily distracted out on his walks by other dogs ,still young and still learning

Jake will pull on his lead if he has not been walked for a day,or if he see’s another dog ( we suggest some loose lead training going forward)

Interaction with other dogs:- Jake can get excited by some dogs, also he may get anxious, but he will always be friendly but might does not understand personal space

Further information

Jake’s temperament :- Lively and bouncy, loves to cuddle when familiar, will sometimes sit himself in the other room and sleep, generally sleeps on the floor next to the bed, hates to be left on his own, will jump up if excited your typical over friendly goofy ball

Jake has never been aggressive or bitten,he rather shy away from strangers ,he does not know to start with, until he gets to know them

We will declare Jake does suffer from separation anxiety,he just loves to be around his people

He can be left for a few hours per day ,say if you need to attend to appointments,or go shopping

If left for longer periods he has been known to chew a door frame ,so please do work on his separation issues

Jake is toilet trained ,but we always state please be aware any dog might have an accident in a new and strange environment

He has never been in a crate and we advise if you are going to crate train,do it slowly and make it a nice calm place of rest

Jake is very good travelling in a car

Dislikes :- Loud noises, shouting, sprays like perfume scare him when you spray them

Jake’s simply loves water ,as soon as he see’s water he will jump in for a swim

His favourite things :- Loves the ball, anything that squeaks or crinkles, snuffle mats

Barney : RESERVED

RESERVED

Please read all of the following information throughly before applying,if you do not match the criteria do NOT apply

Location Suffolk ,you must be willing to travel, to attend as many meet and greets as required

Bouncy beautiful Barney is looking for a foster home ,with a view to adopt in the future

Owners have a change in employment circumstances in the near future, along with not managing a young boisterous young puppy

Barney is your typical goofy ,fun loving, slightly bonkers doodle puppy.

His owners are first time dog owners, and are finding it difficult to navigate such a full on attention seeking fur ball

Barney does need some training,he is still exploring everything, and sometimes gets very over excited and mouths.

If he wants your full attention to play he gets quite aggravated if you call time on playtime.

He is a real rough and tumble puppy ,who just needs guidance ,patience ,time to know the kind boundaries set in place in his foster home

Barney does not like to be restraint ,do not hold him by his collar ,it’s like pulling us by a necklace we would also react

His Female owner has stated he has a lovely hate relationship with the male (Husband) owner in the household in the evenings. This has resulted in more rough play than usual,as stated more so when over stimulated.

Barney used to be good out on his lead, but had an experience that has set him backwards

His owners were walking him on a single track lane ,a large delivery van came into too close proximity and Barney got spooked

Now Barney has become reactive to traffic ,and can be nervous and cautious around other dogs ,as he is not given a huge opportunity to be around both.

Dogs he knows local to him he is much better with ,but high number of dogs makes him uncomfortable

We will need to help him through this phase going forward, and will be happy to pay and supply an experienced Dog Trainer /Behaviourist to help with this going forward.(Fosters will need to be happy to support this too)

Barney needs more time to be guided through socialisation, and put some skills into place for him going forward (not too much at once)

Barney is not really a barker, but will show his voice when he wants attention

Barney has only been the only dog in his home,he has had a visiting dog from time to time.

If we were to rehome him with another dog ,introductions need to be on neutral ground and for as many meet and greets both dogs are comfortable with

DOODLE AIDS REQUIREMENTS

NO FULL TIME WORKERS (would suit persons at home with some free time,to guide this puppy)

HE NEEDS A CALM AND QUIET ENVIRONMENT (he needs time to learn to chill and settle)

EXPERIENCED DOG OWNERS ONLY NEED TO APPLY (whom are willing to work along side us ,any any trainers that Barney may need in coming weeks)

WILL CONSIDER BARNEY BEING FOSTERED ,WITH A CALM OLDER ,NEUTERED OR SPAYED DOG (with no behaviour issues)

CHILDREN WE ONLY REHOME WITH DOG SAVVY CHILDREN ,WHO ARE 13 AND OVER (Barney gets very rough and tumble ,still mouths, and we do not want him getting too over stimulated)

NO VISITING BABIES OR YOUNG CHILDREN

IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ADOPT HIM,AND THINKING OF HAVING CHILDREN IN THE FUTURE ,BARNEY WOULD NOT COPE WELL

NO CATS HE IS NOT CAT TESTED (he probably would chase)

GARDEN NEEDS TO BE SAFE AND SECURE,GSTES MUST HAVE LOCKS

NO TOXIC PLANTS

IF YOU HAVE A DEEP POND IT MUST BE COVERED

NO SHOWBOATING BARNEY FOR AT LEAST A GOOD WEEK

( this means only allow him to be with your people that live in your home, allow him to get used to you and his new environment first)

IF YOU HAVE ANY DAY TRIPS OR HOLIDAYS PRE PLANNEDCPLEASE STATE ON YOUR APPLICATION FORM

Meet Barney

Type Miniature Goldendoodle

Colour Apricot & White

DOB December 2024

Not neutered far too young, will be under contact with our guidelines

Height 19 inches

Weight 18.5 Kgs

Microchipped which has been checked

Booster vaccine due April 2026

Wormer administered July 2025

Flea/tick treatment administered July 2025

No known allergies

Health :- Barney had a reaction to either a nettle sting or a graze from grooming, the vets prescribed cream and a 48 hour injection

Grooming

Barney has a soft curly wavy type of coat, only sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount

He does not mind being groomed at home ,as his owner attends to all his grooming needs at home

Barney will need a Professional Groom at least every 6 to 8 weeks to keep his coat in tip top condition

Exercise

Barney has two walks per day ,plus exercise in his owners garden

He does go off lead only away from, other distractions in a safe area

We do not allow our foster dogs off lead, unless a pre paid paddock is hired

Doodle Aid recommends using a training lead if in a vast space ,and a shorter lead whilst in public and busy places

Barney will need some training with his recall, and loose lead training going forward

Barney did attend basic puppy training classes for six weeks ,but has not continued with this, would be a great bonding experience in the future for him and his new owners

Further Information

Temperament :- Very calm and subdued in the mornings and afternoons, tends to be more lively and energetic in the afternoon and evenings with regular "zoomies" and requires constant attention before he then crashes when he will become loving and cuddly

Barney gets very very excited when meeting and greeting people and children,he will calm down eventually ,but remember he still is only a puppy

Barney is toilet trained ,we do state any dog may have an accident whilst settling into a new environment

He is crated trained, sleeps in his crate at night :- this is mainly to provide a safe and cosy place for him to chill and relax

Please do not put his crate in a busy walk way

He has never been destructive in his home

Barney can be left for a few hours ,but he does crave attention ,so build this up slowly leaving him for any longer time

He travels ok in the car in his crate

Dislikes -: vans and large moving vehicles

Likes-: Fetch with balls and other toys; hide and seek with treats; recall training, several soft toys used at play and rest

Barney has paddled in water no deeper than 10cm and enjoyed this experience

Barney is a lovable loyal doodle that loves oodles of company, this has been such a difficult decision but changes within his family circumstances ,have made them feel that they are not doing right by Barney ,and giving him all that he deserves. They honestly feel that all of Barneys anxieties and reactivities can be dealt with once settled into the right environment ,with an experienced dog owner with the correct training and time.

Doodle Aid will supply support to the foster, and Barney as this is most important aspect.

If you need a trainer, groomer, vet we supply these things never think you are alone.

If you need food etc contact us and we will supply what is required

Please advise us in your application if you have any holidays or periods away planned.

Absolutely no “showboating” Murphy in (at least) the first week. This means allowing Murphys time to settle in your home, with you/your family and the people that Murphy will be living with.

Meet Murphy

Type Bernedoodle

DOB July 2024

Colour Tri Coloured

Height 21 inches might still have a bit of growing to do

Weight 24 Kgs

Booster due October 2025

No known allergies and in good health

Grooming

Murphy has a soft curly coat, which his owners keep short

He only sheds minimally,as all dogs shed some amount

Happy to be brushed at home every few days

Attends a Professional Groomers every 8 to 10 weeks

Exercise

Murphy loves his walks ,and has two good walks per day, plus playtime in his garden

He does sometimes pull on his lead ,especially when he sees other dogs and gets giddy with excitement (we do recommend some loose lead training)

His recall is variable at times ,as he gets easily distracted (would benefit with some training going forward)

We do not recommend allowing Murphy off lead unless you are 100% trusting with his recall.

Our suggestion would be to hire safe secure dog paddocks and practice recall ,these are around £6 for 1/2 an hour

Interaction with other dogs :- He is very excitable and keen to interact with other dogs; no aggression, just keen to sniff and play

Further Information

Murphy is a typical young dog, full of fun,a bit giddy and a goofball, very loving ,can be a bit of a mischief maker, lively energetic, does bounce, loves the attention to be petted and enjoys playing games with his owners

Murphy is good with adults and children ,but will get over excited ,all giddy and may jump and bounce

He needs to time to settle himself and calm down, then he is fine

Behaviour:- Murphy needs to be better socialised. Because of recent family issues stated above ,he has not encountered as many other people as his family would have liked ,he also may bark at unexpected noises

Counter surfer ,a boy who just loves any food by the sounds of things

On two occasions Murphy has bitten, not intentionally ,after he stole a large block of cheese/piece of banana cake .

Murphy bit his human Daddy when he put his hand in his mouth ,and tried to retrieve the food.

He does not guard his normal kibble or toys.

He has never shown any form of aggression to other dogs or people

Murphy’s general obedience is ok we are informed, but would certainly benefit with some extra training

Murphy is mostly toilet trained ,but he has been known to have the occasional accident (this just maybe due to some anxiousness within the family dynamics, dogs can pick up on things and react in different forms)

He sleeps in the kitchen but has access to the dinning area

(with newly rehomed dogs we ask you sleep nearby the first few nights as they will be unsettle with the change of environment)

Murphy can be left alone for a few hours whilst you attended appointments,or go shopping etc

Only been destructive in the home when he was a small puppy ,whilst he was teething

Never been crated

Travels well in the car

Dislikes :- Reactive to sudden noises ,with the noise reaction he with jump up

Likes :- Playing with his toots and tug of war

Not a huge fan of the water

Note from Murphy’s owner

With the recent family issues, they are really struggling to give Murphy the time and training that he needs. He is an intelligent dog who could make someone a great pet. I just wish it could be us.It will break our heart to give him up, but what is best for Murphy is the only thing that matters. I hope you will be able to help.

George : NOW ADOPTED

NOW ADOPTED

Please do read all of the following information fully; if you do not meet George’s criteria, please DO NOT apply – thank you.

George is located in Cambridgeshire, postcode area CB6. NOTE : The chosen applicant will be required to carry out as many ‘meet and greets’ as deemed necessary by DoodleAid. Please DO NOT APPLY unless you can meet these criteria.

George is a dearly loved member of his family and the decision to rehome, whilst necessary, has not been easy. George’s current home is very busy, and the family feel they are not able to give him the attention he needs. In short, George is a wonderful dog but with two young children in the house, George isn’t getting the exercise or attention he needs.

George used to be quite possessive of high value treats but appears to have grown out of this. The family have done some work swapping out the treats, and this seems to have stopped the behaviour. If asked to drop, George will. We can never be sure George has lost this trait, so caution is advised.

In his younger years, George has nipped, but never drawn blood.

George’s family cannot stress enough that George doesn’t have a bad bone in his body and will make someone a wonderful companion.

DoodleAid Requirements

No full time (absent) workers, but George can tolerate short periods alone. . Would suit active retired couple, homeworkers with time for George or family with a stay at home adult.

George is lively and enthusiastic and at 38kg, only children over 10 would fit in with George’s dynamic.

George is not a cat fan, so no cats in the house please. George may get on with one other well behaved dog, but this would require several ‘meet and greets’.

Your garden must be safe and secure, any gates must have a lock.

Please advise us in your application if you have any holidays or periods away planned.

Absolutely no “showboating” George in (at least) the first week. This means allowing George time to settle in your home, with you/your family; the people that George will be living with.

Meet George

Type : GoldenDoodle (Standard Poodle Dad / Golden Retriever Mum)

Colour : Cream

Born June 2020 (aged 5)

Gender : Male (neutered – never used as stud dog)

Height : TBC

Weight : 38kg

Microchipped

Booster vaccinations due December 2025

Worm / flea and tick up to date

George is currently on no medication

George previously had repeated ear infections that ceased when he was moved to an insect protein based diet. George may be allergic to some proteins but is stable on his current diet.

George had surgery to resolve his ear issue (one ear canal removed) after he became resistance to the medication.

Grooming

George is prone to matting as he has a low shedding coat. He attends a professional groomer every 4/5 weeks (where he is well behaved). George is fine being brushed at home, but is not keen on having matts removed.

Exercise

George is currently getting 30 minute’s walk a day but would benefit from getting more exercise and stimulation and this is a key reason for rehoming.

George has fairly good recall with his current owners, but the successful new owners should not let George off lead until they have certainty George will come back to them.

George has always been friendly with other dogs, but new owners should exercise caution as you cannot be sure as to the temperament of any dog.

George does not pull on his lead unless stimulated by sight of dogs or people he knows. He’s improved with training and a new owner should continue this training.

George’s owners feel other activity, such as scent work or agility, would be great and George would enjoy it.

General Information

George is very calm round the house, not a barker and good with older children and other people. He’s very bouncy but doesn’t jump up on people or furniture.

George will sit, stay, wait for his food and go to bed when asked. He’ll wait by the door for toilet and whilst he can be excited around guests, he will calm down if told.

George is well socialised and attended puppy training classes. He’s toilet trained but accidents happen, especially whilst a dog is settling in to new surroundings.

George sleeps downstairs in the kitchen, but you may want to spend time with George at night initially, to give him reassurance and help him settle in.

George can be left for short periods of time and seems unphased by activity in the house. He is not destructive, he’ll tear up a food wrapper if left on the floor, but won’t take stuff from work surfaces.

George is not, and has never been crated.

George will travel well in the car, he lays down happily in the boot. George is not a jumper and at 38kg, you’ll need to be able to give him a hand in. He’ll put his front paws on the lip of the boot, but you’ll need give him a “leg” up.

George is scared of fireworks.

George is not a swimmer, but does like to splash in water.

George likes an game; balls, tug, anything that keeps him stimulated.

Owner’s Note

“George is a truly wonderful dog ! With the right exercise and training he would pretty much be perfect! We are heartbroken we don’t have the time to give him what he needs.

It is vital and essential for us that George is rehomed to someone who knows what is required for a big energetic dog and is extremely active and happy to take George with them, give lots of fun and happiness that he deserves.”

If you live in rented accommodation we will require documentation that a dog can live in this property

Our chosen applicants will be subjected to a full vetting and a homecheck

An adoption fee for George is £225.00

Merlin - NOW ADOPTED

IN FOSTER

Merlin is located in East Ayrshire 📍Scotland Post Code area KA6

The foster will be expected to travel and carry out a meet and greet

Merlin is looking for a foster due to his current owners poor health and the environment he is living around

Where Merlin lives he is surrounded by females dogs in the neighbourhood that are not spayed, when they come into season it’s driving Merlin’s hormones crazy

Merlin is not neutered ,a few years ago he was chemically casterated ,this bought on unwanted behaviour which made poor Merlin worse

This lovely boy is adored by his family but with so much going on ,they feel Merlin needs more than they can offer him

Merlin is not getting the exercise he needs ,due to his owners declining health issues.

Also Merlin is classed as a large breed, when he goes out on his walks he can get over stimulated/excited when he see’s other dogs, and will not calm down

Merlin likes to wrestle with other dogs, likes rough play which is not always accepted by other dogs,he has never bitten or been aggressive to dogs or humans

This has resulted in Merlin’s owner ,walking him away from other dogs he doesn’t know.

Merlin does live with an older female doodle, whom is going to live with another family member, they cannot take Merlin as well.

MERLIN IS VERY SPECIAL HE IS ALSO A BLOOD DONOR

ℹ️Doodle Aids Requirements ℹ️

We feel this would benefit Merlin and help him manage his over excited nature

🔴We will only allow him to live in a home with NO other dogs

🔴Can live with dog savvy older children aged 12 plus (no visiting babies or small children please) as he is a large boy ,could knock little ones over

Brushed through daily with a slicker brush, which he does not mind

Bath at home in between grooms if needed

Attended a Professional Groomers every 8 weeks ,his groomer only allows 1 to 1 grooming as this is best suited for Merlin’s needs

Merlin’s behaviour started at a groomers where there were too many dogs roaming freely everywhere,Merlin could not cope with so many dogs

Exercise 🏃‍♂️

Sadly because of his owners declining health,Merlin isn’t getting the exercise he needs

This is the reason he is looking for a new home

Merlin requires least two good walks per day please

As stated he can go off lead if fosters are willing to hire a private paddock from time ,otherwise he must be on a lead

In the home he is well mannered and when asked to follow a command he will co- operate

Likes -: loves a ball and loves to play with a flirt pole

Merlin has not got water wings not a swimmer

He knows quite a few tricks like roll over and play dead and lives for bum/belly/chin scratches

This is been a truly heartbreaking decision for the whole family ,but sadly with restricted mobility issues which are getting worse ,there is no other option for the family to deal with Merlin.

His owner is firm they are not rehoming him due to his reactions to other dogs, but due to declining health issues and they wanted to make this very clear as Merlin is a lovely dog.

They feel in the right hands, the right environment he will go onto be the dog he needs to be

Lack of exercise will benefit him, with some training to help him with other dogs will no doubt be a positive thing for Merlin’s future

Doodle Aid is here to support Merlin’s fosters ,we will cover his food ,vets invoices, behaviourists etc

If his fosters need any assistance they will need to communicate weekly with us so we can be of support

If you live in rented accommodation we will need documentation that a dog can live in this property

Please do read all the following information fully ,if you do not meet Penny’s criteria ,do not apply to foster ,thank you

Penny is located in Wakefield Post Code area WF10

NOTE the potential applicant will be requested to travel to carry out as many meet and greets as requested.

DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CANNOT MEET THESE REQUESTS

Penny is looking for a foster home due to a busy environment with small children

Penny wants the children’s toys and food ,this has resulted in Penny nipping the child’s hand whilst trying gain access a toy ,the child was holding

We are told no blood was drawn ,just a quick nip to gain access to the toy

Because of this her owners are worried this could escalate further,as Penny is very much trying to get to toys and food

Pennys owners are finding it tough to keep an eye on their child and Penny ,both are so quick and things can happen we quickly if you are not expecting it

Penny does like both the children ,but with her resource guarding she is unpredictable

Doesn’t always show this behaviour ,and can sometimes be very settled even around food ,but would not trust her around owners toddler with food in her hand

Behaviour more info - resource guarding, especially around food.

Stealing resources from the sides/ counters/ floor. Cannot leave anything in reach when owners are in the room ,at certain times of the day when penny is over stimulated

This tends to be morning time before her walk (7-8/9) and evening tea time (4.30-6)

Penny had a bad experience with a male vet ,so now visiting the vets she needs to be muzzled

Her owners have requested to see female vets in the future

Penny is not an aggressive dog just very misunderstood, and needs reassurance and guidance

Situations have made her behaviour form in the way she only knows how at the moment

In a new environment with care and love we believe Penny will bloom in time

Doodle Aids Requests For Fostering

Person or persons willing to put time in working to manage Penny’s resource guarding ,helping her with her fear with visiting the vets she

( this can be discussed further ,also Doodle Aid will supply a qualified Behaviourist support)

Penny prefers women to men ,accepts her human Dad ,but might take awhile to gain trust if one of the fosters is a male

Also takes time warming to strangers ,this is something that she needs some reassurance with once settled

With any rescue dog time ,trust and patience is the key

We will consider placing Penny with Children over 12 ,whom are dog savvy and respectful around her at all times

No visiting babies or toddlers

Happy to place her in an adult only home too

NO FULL TIME WORKERS

NO CATS

NO OTHER DOGS

ABSOLUTELY NO SHOWBOATING PENNY THE FIRST WEEK

( this means allow Penny time to settle with you only, in your own home, this is very important)

Garden must be safe and secure ,this includes locks on any gates

If you have any day trips or holidays planned lease state on your application form

NOTE - whilst any rescue dog is settling in a new environment with new people behaviours can often change,we as a rescue cannot predict a dogs behaviour fully

Any changes do keep us and the behaviourist updated at all times

Once a dog is foster we have not got the capability to move them quickly if requested ,we do not own kennels so please bare this in mind

We will act as professionally as we can in any situations which arise

Microchipped checked

Height 65 cms approximately

Weight 30 Kgs

Grooming

Doodle Aid will contact a professional groomer if Penny needs a full groom, whilst in foster care

Penny has a curly coat, only sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount

She enjoys being brushed at home ,but only when she is relaxed

Our advice would be take this slowly ,with sone treats ready available

Owner states - Bathed at home outside with bucket if got very muddy

Professionally groomed every 6 weeks

Exercise

Minimum 40mins - 1hr walk a day. Usually twice (morning and afternoon) often on lead but occasionally off

Penny does go off her lead ,in safe places that are not overly busy

Any Foster dog we state do not allow off lead, unless you hire a safe and secure paddock to gain trust in recall

Penny is walked on a harness ,as this her owners state helps with her not pulling

Interaction with other dogs whilst out - Sometimes barks and lunges when passing, other times no reaction at all

Further information

Penny as stated is anxious at the vets, scared of strangers and some men, resource guards food, toys and things tempting in her reach..

Penny is very lively and bouncy and jumpy

Will bark lots ,get excited when visitors come into owners home

General obedience- Not amazing more training required

Will listen when she wants ,more training required

Can do general commands and responds to ‘settle’ well

Training Courses - done in the past - puppy training

Had the puppy trainer visit home

Owner did a 6 month intensive course 1:1 home visits with dog trainer, and a 6 week weekly ‘teenage dog’ socialising training session

Behaviour around people - Good with those who live in the house

Giddy with visitors but very friendly over excited

Jump up and bark when first meeting them

Can be wary around men

Dislikes male vets

Children - Loves owners toddler and baby but this is the problem ,that they worried for safety due to resource guarding and needing attention

Penny is toilet trained, but as we always state accidents can occur whilst any dog is settling in a new environment

Penny sleeps in the kitchen ( fosters might like to spend a few nights settling Penny in another room and being with her for the nights ahead)

She is not crate trained ,this is something Penny has not experienced

Travels in the car ok sometimes she may play games getting in,but most times good

Penny is not a swimmer

Owners note - Please help us as we really do not want to fail Penny

She is a beautiful dog ,but family life has changed the environment at home making it not suitable for her ,and we worry it will push her to bite and inevitably have to be put down when this can be avoided ,by change of owners and environment.

Doodle Aid will support Penny’s Fosters throughout her care in their hands

Happy to provide a fully qualified behaviourist for support at our expense

Groomers we also will aid you with

Vets you need to register her at a vets ,and we will contact them as a charity and pay expenses

You are never alone ,we are almost available 24/7 if you need support

Penny is a special girl just has been struggling with home life and anxious behaviour,in the right hands we hope this will improve and make Penn6 a much more relaxed girl in the future

If you feel you can help foster Penny apply here https://www.doodleaid.com/adoption-application-form

All homes will be fully vetted and homechecks set in place

If you live in rented accommodation we will seek documentation that a dog can live in this property

Grooming Requirements

Dennis has a tight curly coat, only sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount

Honey has a soft coat with a light curl ,sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount

Both are brushed daily without any issues, you must keep on top of their coats as doodles coats easily matt

Attends a Professional Groomers every 8 to 10 weeks

Exercise

Dennis and Honey have a 30 minute walk in morning, 45 minute walk in afternoon /evening,longer walks at weekend

Both do go off lad,as a responsible charity we do not advise you allow either of them off lead, until you have complete control and trust on their recall

Recall :- Honey better than Dennis- Dennis can get distracted by other dogs - Honey tends to stick close to owners

Always good to put in extra training with newly rescued dogs, great for bonding

Lead pulling they do not really - if excited will sometimes pull to start but owners tend to wait until they are calm before putting on lead and leaving home

Interaction with other dogs :- Dennis- wants to play, interested; Honey- fairly nonplussed and won’t give dogs much attention

Both have attended Doggy Day care ,both well socialised dogs

Obedience :- Both good obedience. Understand ‘leave’ and other basic instructions

Further Information

Dennis; fun loving, loves being chased by other dogs, nosey- likes to be in thick of action/attention, very smart

Honey- very loving and affectionate, loves games and chasing balls

Neither dog have shown any behavioural issues, both non aggressive dogs

Interaction with people -: Dennis- can be a bit aloof to start with but once he knows you and is comfortable is very loving and playful

Honey- very affectionate, will bark at strangers entering home and will hide behind her owners to start with, but gets comfortable and is fine (this only occurs in owners home- fine with people out and about)

Both live with older children in the family ,Honey gets startled with younger children

Both dogs interact with each other well, from time to time they might give a warning growl ,if one wants a toy or treat the other one has at the time

This is quite normal behaviour ,just like children when one wants something the other one has at the moment in time

NOTE

Both dogs are used to someone being home most of time- have never been out to work full time (have been remote/hybrid) and owners feel they would struggle if they were to be left for long periods alone.

NOT TO BE LEFT ANY LONGER THAN TWO HOURS PER DAY

Both Dennis and Honey are toilet trained ,but as we always state with any dogs settling into a new environment be prepared for any little accidents

Both dogs sleep in their owners bedroom at night,in their dogs beds, but sometimes they might sneak onto their humans beds

Neither of these lovely dogs have been destructive in their home

They are not crated currently at all but they are both crate trained, and will happily go into their crate if needed

Car travel :- Both travel well however Dennis will sometimes whine (with excitement or nerves) and Honey will sometimes join in. Both travel in boot with dog guard and are tethered

Dislikes :- Honey isn’t keen on hoover but isn’t scared as such of it

Likes :- Honey- ball throwing and catching- will play for hours! Dennis- loves tug of war with toys (with other dogs as well as humans)

Swimming/water :- Honey - big yes; Dennis- big no

Both Dennis and Honey will make wonderful companions,we just need to find them the right match, to be their forever home and to be well loved and cared for ,for the rest of their doodle days

Skye is fairly well socialised and we would like her new owners to continue with socialising and training Skye

Skye sleeps in the kitchen or hallway at night

Her new owners we advise spending the first few nights with her,to settle her into her new home

She can be left whilst you go shopping or appointments,we do not want Skye left any longer than a few hours per day

Skye has never been destructive in her home

Crates :- She was crated when her owners first got her for overnight sleep & when they were out. She has been out of the crate for about a month but still has access to it but door is always left open

Car travel :- Locally she has always been fine in the car

On a couple of occasions when gone further afield, she has been sick once on each occasion

Skye dislikes some loud noises/bangs

Daisy is located in Stockport Post Code area SK6

NOTE the potential applicant will be requested to travel to carry out as many meet and greets as requested.

This is very much a heartbreaking story,we will not got into too much details

Daisy’s human Mummy sadly went to heaven, this was very sudden and Daisy was left with her for a short period of time

This did affect Daisy and she became withdrawn and anxious after such a huge loss

Daisy loved her human Mummy very much ,and yes dogs do grieve

Poor Daisy her world was turned upside down

Since loosing her Mummy ,Daisy has been lucky enough to live with family members

This transition was not easy for her at first ,or for the family, but with time ,love and care Daisy has become so much better in herself

Her current family have really helped her gain her confidence ,and have given her so much love and affection

She has been living with them about a year ,and things have really improved with their guidance

Daisy was only going to be with them temporarily to start with, but things and life commitments can change as we all know

Sadly with work commitments and a busy family lifestyle ,they feel Daisy needs more than they can give her

It’s very hard for them also ,but Daisy needs must come first as she has been through so much heartache

Her new owners will need to keep on top of her grooming needs, with brushing and combing her coat.

Treats might help and introduce the brush slow,y at first, short spurts

She attends a Professional Groomers every 8 to 10 weeks,at present.

Exercise

Daisy has 5/6 short walks a day plus one Medium walk per day.2-3 long walks per week.

Meet Chester

Type Australian Labradoodle

DOB May 2020

Colour Golden

Male

Neutered

Height 18 inches

Weight 14 Kgs

Microchipped which has been checked

Booster vaccination due December 2025

Flea/tick/worming treatments administered April 2025

Heath :- Chester snapped his Dew claw off but no issues from that, it just grew back

Had one or two ear infections but other than that he is in very good health

No known allergies

Grooming Requirements

Chester has soft wavy coat ,only sheds minimally,as all dogs shed some amount

He does not mind being brushed at home ,we recommend every few days

Chester attends a professional groomers every 7 to 8 weeks and is very well behaved at the salon

Exercise

Chester has two walks per ,day he so loves going out for his exercise

He may pull on his walks, owners use a Halti, you may like to swap this first a comfortable harness later

His recall is adverse could do with some training in this de parent,he can get easily distracted whilst out and about

As a responsible charity ,we do not recommend allowing any newly rescued dog off lead, until such times he or she has the confidence and trust to come back to you

Chester interacts with dogs very well, but does a bit deaf when being called back as he is having so much fun

As we know not all dogs are friendly ,so do keep control of him at all times, training yourself to train him ,would be perfect bonding

Chester is very food motivated ,thus being good for all his training purposes

Further Information

Chester is lively and bouncy but calms down after people come into his home

Owners have tried hard to prevent him jumping up ,and he is pretty good but always needs some distraction in this department

He is a very loving, cuddly dog ,although he is not allowed on the furniture , he will cuddle up to you on the floor

Chester likes to lick his humans, not all humans react well to this ,but we thought we we just highlight this,as doodle beards can be lovely ,even if you do not appreciate it

Chester is a very affectionate boy and very soppy in his character

He has never shown any aggressive behaviour or bitten

Chesters quirks ,he lays on the floor ,when he sees another dog, and then pounces in a playful way

He does run as fast as he can when he sees people ,which can be a bit a intimidating ,his owners do put him back on a lead when walking in the woods ,especially if they see children ,as they wouldn't want him to accidently knock them over.

Chesters is quite well socialised, however as he is very bouncy and loves to steal food and drink any drinks, ownersdo have to lock him out the room ,when people come over

They do not take him to other peoples houses because you need eyes in the back of your head,as a food and drink thief (more training and keeping edibles out of reach of Chester’s reach is a must)

You must not leave any food about and you must have a dog proof bin

Owners think he got sick from chicken ,but could have been something he ate from the bins

Chester is toilet trained, but we always like to state accidents may occur with any dog entering a new environment

Never been destructive in his home

Chester is not crate trained

Car travel ;- fair traveller, however he hasnt been in the car that often but does moan a little bit but will settle down

We think again if it was a more regular thing ,he would be fine with more journeys and confidence it’s ok to travel

Unknown if Chester can swim,he has never tried

Favourite games and toys ;- Any play time activities. He likes it when you throw a ball and he brings it back

His owners really just want him to go to a loving home where is wanted and treated with love and care ,which is really what he deserves as he is a lovely dog.

Dylan : Adopted

ADOPTED

Please do read all the following information fully ,if you do not meet Dylan’s criteria ,do not apply thank you

Dylan is located in Hampshire Post Code area PO16

NOTE the potential applicant will be requested to travel to carry out as many meet and greets as requested.

DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CANNOT MEET THESE REQUESTS

Dylan is adored by his current owners but significant change in circumstance means rehoming is in Dylan’s best interest. Despite best efforts and a lot of patience from Dylan, he has not adjusted to small children and is often shut away or put in the garden for his own protection (which Dylan finds distressing due to separation anxiety). Since the arrival of littles humans, Dylan has not received the affection and attention he has grown accustomed to and this has been detrimental to Dylan’s happiness. With heavy hearts, Dylan’s current owners want to put Dylan’s needs before their own and feel he would thrive in an environment with older children who understand how to respect his space and shower him in the gentle attention and playfulness that he craves. Dylan would equally suit an active retiree(s), and the company of one other dog in an environment filled with long walks and undivided attention.

Our Requirements for Rehoming Dylan

Active home, with persons who are fit and energetic

Can be wary around men,but will settle and gain confidence with time

Dylan is an active young doodle, who just loves company

We need to place him in a home ,where humans are at home all day ,this is very important for Dylan as he needs the comfort he so deserves

Can live with dog savvy older children aged 10 plus ,whom are respectful around dogs

Preferably no visiting babies or young children, and if your young and planning a family this is not the dog for you

Can live with ONE other dog ,not a multi household with other dogs

The other dog must have no behavioural issues, you must be prepared to travel ,for as many meet and greets as required

Absolutely no cats

Your garden must be secure ,if you have gates they must have a lock

If you have a deep pond we request it is covered

Check you have no toxic plants or vegetables

If you have any holidays planned, please state on your application form

Meet Dylan

Type Australian Labradoodle

Colour Ginger and White Tuxedo

DOB July 2021

Male

Dylan is neutered

Height 20 inches

Weight 17 to 18 Kgs approximately

Microchipped which has been checked

Fully vaccinated booster due September 2025

Wormer administered November 2024

Flea and tick treatment administered April 2025

Dylan is in good health

Allergies :- allergic reaction to Metacam and possibly any other anti inflammatories,

NOTE :- this was discovered after Dylan was neutered

Meloxicam (brand names Metacam® Loxicom®, OroCAM®, Rheumocam) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, inflammation, and fever in dogs and cats. It is indicated for the treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs and cats. Meloxicam is also used to treat pain associated with surgery.

Dylan has a healthy appetite, he doesn’t resource guard but does have food sensitivities i.e. will vomit bile if stomach is empty too long. Two meals daily and plenty of healthy treats will keep Dylan’s tummy happy. Dylan previously thrived on Butternut box but has transitioned to Naturo (Grain Free) as a more affordable option ahead of rehoming.

Grooming Requirements

Dylan has a soft silky wavy coat, only sheds minimal, all dogs shed some amount

Every few days a light brushing of knot prone areas (ears, beard and tail) with detangling brush

He prefers to be brushed whilst having a cuddle in bed, shortly after waking

Dylan is calm enough to allow brushing at this time of the day, later in the day Dylan will be too excited to allow brushing

Professional Groomer:-Dylan is washed/trimmed by groomer at least once a month. Extra wash appointments during rainy/muddy seasons. Dylan doesn’t really enjoy being washed at home, he is nervous of the shower head. Full cut dependant on growth and time of year

Dylan is hypoallergenic and professionally groomed/cut every 6wks. During muddy months, Dylan has additional wash only appointments to keep his fur clean and matt-free.

Doodle Aid is always happy to recommend an qualified experienced groomer

Exercise

During the week Dylan has brief morning walk at local park (20mins), off lead walk (1hr) , plus lots of garden play. Weekends - 2hrs daily countryside/beach walks

Dylans recall is good , (recall to whistle (with fingers) or Dylan)

NOTE :- Doodle Aid does not recommend any newly adopted dog to go off lead unless in a secure hired paddock ,or when you have complete trust in each other this is most important

Whilst on a lead Dylan did pull on his lead when a puppy, Dylan would attempt to chase cars meaning Dylan is accustomed to off lead countryside/beach walks. Dylan can be road walked as this behaviour now rarely occurs, but new owners should be wary of Dylan being spooked by cars !

This might be something that his new owners might like to explore with a dog behaviourist ,if they feel they have not got the experience

This lovely boys obedience is good and he interacts well with other dogs whilst out and about

Dylan would flourish in agility classes/competition,totally wonderful for both humans and dogs to bond

Further information

Dylan is Affectionate, Cuddly, Excitable, Intelligent, and can be protective over his family ,Dylan has a very expressive tail

Behavioural occurrences :- Back in January 2025, a Ridgeback knocked over our toddler. Dylan rushed to protect him and was subsequently attacked by the Ridgeback. Fortunately this incident resulted in superficial wounds only, and Dylan’s personality or behaviour has remained unchanged

Dylan can be nervous around new people, in particular, knocking at the door and / entering the home,he will bark until settled and reassured

Dylan has a curly piglet tail

This unique feature means it’s easy to judge Dylan’s mood

It curls when he’s happy, excited and becomes floppy when Dylan feels nervous, or poorly

Dylan will respond to the following commands:

- Sit

- Wait (show Dylan your palm)

- Lie Down (touch 2-fingers to the floor)

- “On your bed”

- Go on OR Come on (to release him from ‘wait’ and / to have him follow you)

- Recall to whistle (with fingers) or ‘Dylan’

He has attended puppy training classes and taught additional behaviours at home. Very intelligent and food motivated - highly capable of advanced tricks and skills

Dylan is extremely affectionate and loving, but does suffer from separation anxiety. Because of this, Dylan’s current owners feel he cannot be left alone for significant periods of time (2 hours), and generally take Dylan out with the

Doggy company would significantly improve Dylan’s anxiety about being left alone

Dylan owns several soft toys for ‘suckling’ when stressed

Very energetic and highly intelligent, Dylan is food motivated and has the capacity to learn tricks, commands or even agility training

Dylan’s favourite game is fetch, he has never resource guarded toys but often forgets not to play indoors and hasn’t outgrown ‘play nipping’

Dylan can be nervous/protective of his ‘pack’ around new people, in particular, knocking at the door and / entering the home

Dylan will bark and rush the door/ person. This is a front, as Dylan will quickly befriend visitors when presented with treats

At present, Dylan is shut in a separate room before opening the front door to deliveries etc

Dylan cannot be left unattended around human food and though he shows little/no interest in fox poo, he will treat human faeces and horse poo as tasty snacks

Dylan is toilet trained , but we always like to state accidents may occur with any dog entering a new environment

This darling boy loves to sleep with his humans ,human bed sleeper, has been known to share the pillow

Dylan has spent the majority of his life sleeping at the foot of the bed or on the floor next to the bed

For past 2mths, Dylan has slept downstairs on the sofa but would prefer not to be separated from his loved ones

Can be left alone only for a maximum of 2 hours only (note this it’s important as he needs human company)

Dylan has never been destructive in his home

He owns several soft toys for ‘suckling’,this is comfort whilst owners go out

He is not crate trained,no reason to be crated

Car travel :- Well behaved, free roam in boot but prefers to sit in front passenger seat with a restraint please

Dylan loves a Sea-swim, but isn’t a huge fan of the bath.

Dislikes cats

Un -fazed by fireworks we are informed

Favourite games and toys, footballs , bubbles and fetch.

All potential applicants will be requested to have a full vetting and a visual homecheck
