Jackson Is Looking For His Forever Home

WE WILL NOT REHOME NOW UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS

Happy to take applications, and do homechecks in between the holiday period

Please do read all the following information fully, before applying.

If you do not match Jackson’s criteria do not apply thank you

Jackson is located in Stirling in Scotland ,post code area FK7

You will be expected to travel,to carry out several meet and greets

Brief history :- His current owners adopted Jackson from a senior lady ,whom could not cope with a puppy ,sadly as we all know puppies and young adult dogs can sometimes be a handful.

Jackson’s current owner has had him 3 years and 10 months.

Sadly he is looking for a new home due to Grandchild now being part of Jackson’s life, which he cannot cope with at all.

There’s been an occasion that the young tot aged 18 months ,climbed onto the sofa ,whilst Jackson was resting on the back of the sofa, this did not end well.

Unfortunately the tot did not understand the warning signs and pushed Jackson to his ultimate limit, resulting in the tot getting hurt.

We like to point out that this was totally not Jackson’s fault ,and his owners will state the same, tot totally would not allow Jackson any space

Sadly Jackson did give a warning growl, but we all do have limitations

Now Jackson cannot be trusted around the tot ,tot cannot be rehomed so his owners state Jackson needs a child free home ,where he can relax and the rest of the family can relax also.He is ok if the tot left him well alone, sadly children do not understand

Also his current owner is not coping well as waiting health appointments, and worried for the future of Jackson with own health issues

Jackson is also ball possessive,we recommend weaning him off balls,he will try to take other dogs balls and will growl if they try to retrieve it back.

If there is no balls around he loves playing with other dogs, some big dogs he is reactive with if they get into his space

Has some small issues with separation anxiety, gives a few whines until settled ,but he can be left short periods ,not hours at a time

Groomers

Jackson has a soft wavy/curly coat sheds minimally,as all dogs shed some amount

Is brushed at home, but only tolerates it in short bursts.

Attend a Professional Groomers every 10 weeks ,not overly keen on being groomed.

Exercise

Jackson has several good walks per day,and loves going out for his exercise.

His recall is good, but we do advice no rescue dog should be allowed off lead unless you have complete trust in each other

Hiring safe and secure paddocks would be a good place to start to practice recall and trust

He is good with other dogs as long as no balls are involved,he will steal balls.

Slightly fearful of larger dogs in his space

Jackson sometimes will pull on his lead, loose lead tracing would beneficial

General information

Jackson is lively, gives great welcomes to everyone visiting ,friendly outdoors when walking, bouncy, cuddly- loves sitting or lying on your knee, plays games with his ball in house, pushes it under sideboard with his nose and then retrieves it but as stated he might be better being weaned off his ball

Jackson is toilet trained, but we always state any dog entering a new environment may have an accident until settled

He sleeps in his bed or owners bed, does both, can easily get him to his own bed, point and say bed, use command OFF for retrieving and off couch and bed

Jackson is fairly well socialised and his general obedience is fairly good too

Any dog always can do with reminders on manners and training

He can be left alone for short periods of time,no more than a few hours

Never been destructive in his home

Not crate trained

Car travel :- not overly keen to jump in boot, this comes and goes, suspect car sickness although he has never been sick, sometimes jumps in no problem

Dislikes :- big dogs, babies crying, groomers , have got a good one who is great with him now, can randomly want to chase a noisy trailers, generally good though on the lead

Likes :- balls, plastic bottles he finds on walks, tosses them about in the air

Note from his current owners :- Jackson is a gentle peaceful boy who loves people. Wouldn't suit being left alone for long periods.

He will be sadly missed ,but he needs a child free home
