Louie : Ready for adoption -

Please Read Carefully Before Applying For Louie

ONCE YOU SEE APPLICATIONS CLOSED THIS IS THE TIME WE MAKE CONTACT

Location Leicestershire Post Code Area LE3 ,you will be expected to travel ,to carry out several meet and greets.

Lovely little Louie is looking for his forever home ,due to change of circumstances within his family.

Now doing longer working hours, his family believe it’s totally not fair on Louie ,to be left for longer periods of time than what he is used too.

They adore him ,but feel he is not benefiting to getting all what they can give him at present,Louie must come first.

With heavy hearts they have decided to rehome Louie ,to persons or person who can give him all he requires for the future.

Request from Louie’s owners please do not change his name,as he responds so well to his name.

We do not want Louie left for hours on end,we like him in a home with at least one person at home most of the day.

Not to be passed around to family members, doggy day care etc,he needs stability in his life and persons willing to give him all he needs.

Louie does tend to guard various items ,you would need to learn to manage this which can easily be controlled ,if you are willing to put in the time to help him going forward.

Louie must be the only dog within his new home

Dog savvy children of 10 years and over (this is due to some resource guarding)

No cats

Must have a safe and secure garden ,if you have a back gate it must have a lock

Absolutely no showboating Louie for at least the first week.

Showboating means :- Showboating is someone showing the rescue dog off as soon as they are adopted. Either taking the dog to see people, go to pub or have lots of visitors to your house to say hello in the first week or so. The first week is about you and the dogs getting used to each other, allowing time to adjust and learning to trust each other rather than showing the dog off.

No newly adopted dog should be aloud of their lead until you have complete trust in one other.Too many dogs in the UK go missing and we do not want this happening to any of our adopted dogs.

If you live in rented accommodation you will be required to provide documentation that a dog can live with the property.

Hoildays if you have any weekends away planned,or any pre booked holidays please state on your application

Meet Louie

Type Sproodle

DOB February 2020

Colour Ebony with a white chest

Male who is neutered

Height 18 inches

Weight 14 Kgs

Microchipped checked

Vaccination booster ,to be administered next week

Up to date with flea/tick and worming treatments

Louie had issues with his ear ,the vet syringed and cleaned with no further problems.

We do request checking Louie’s ears at least once a week, the vet will advise what cleaning treatments should be used.

Louie digested a sock back in 2020 ,he under went a procedure to remove the item.

No known allergies

Grooming Requirements bath

Louie has a soft silky curly coat ,he only sheds minimally, all dogs shed some amount.

He is brushed through weekly at home, not a fan but happy when treats offered.

Attends a professional groomers every 5/6 weeks for a full groom.

Exercise

Louie has two good walks per day.

His recall is very good ,and we would expect his new owners to carry on with his recall training.

Louie does go off his lead ,but as a responsible charity we advise his new owners not to do this until you have complete trust with each other.

His que to come back is either his name or a whistle sound.

Louie is actually better off his lead than on his lead.

Our suggestion would be to hire a dog free paddock ,to engage with Louie ,and for him to get acquainted coming back to you.

Louie may pull on his lead on the occasion, some loose lead training would be beneficial.

He can be anxious around other dogs whilst on his lead, will bark at them

As stated better off his lead ,whilst meeting and greeting other dogs.

Does not show a huge amount of interest in other dogs when off his lead, bit shy and unsure .

Louie would certainly benefit with some socialisation lessons ,to help manage his shyness and anxiousness.

This would be a great bonding experience for both Louie and his new owners.

General information

Louie is a fun loving, intelligent boy, quick to learn, lively energetic fella.

Louie is very loving and loves being fussed with strokes and cuddles. Loves the inside of the back legs being tickled. He is extremely affectionate and will give kisses and try and get you to put your arm round him.

His general obedience is good he waits at the kerb side before going forward,he will also sit waiting for you to reattach his lead.

Will vacate a room when asked, will also give you his paw when offered a treat.

Louie can get excited when new people come to the home,if too many people arrive he takes himself off into another room, for some quiet time.

He does live with a very young child ,whom he is good around ,but at times it’s too overwhelming for him and he gets anxious.

Louie has a tendency to resource guard certain items such as tissues or other treasures.

This can managed but exchanging for a tasty treat

Because of this behaviour we will not rehome with very young children.

More info on resource management https://booksplea.se/mine-a-practical-guide-to.../...

Louie has given a warning whilst he was resource guarding, when a person tried to take the item away he was guarding.

They also pulled him by the collar, which was a mistake as he did not like this.

Louie is toilet trained ,but like we say any dogs can have accidents whilst in a strange and new environment .

We are told he can hold for many hours overnight.

He sleeps in the kitchen in his bed or on the sofa (never upstairs)

We do advise when a new rescue comes into your home,to sleep by them first few nights as they need this reassurance.

Louie can be left on his own as a charity we only state 3 to 4 hours maximum, dogs are social creatures and need human interaction.

Because Louie owners working hours have changed ,we do not want Louie being left too long on his own please in his new home.

He has never been destructive in his home

Not crate trained

Louie enjoys car travel, and sits on the seat connected to a seatbelt harness

Water :- Louie likes water and enjoys a swim

Dislikes :- Balloons

Likes :- Squeaky balls are his absolute favourite and rope toys, he likes to chew these.

Overall louie is a great dog but does need someone who can give him time and affection with a good exercise daily, he loves being outside even in the garden. He is very loving chap ,and what you put in ,you will be rewarded back by a great dog.

All potential appreciations will be subjected to a full vetting and homecheck

An adoption fee of £300.00 is required this goes back into the charity

Honey : Ready for Adoption

This is very important to read all this information carefully ,thank you

Once applications state closed, this is the only time we will contact everyone that has applied for Honey.

Location Warwickshire Post Code Area CV11 ,you will be required to travel to do several meet and greets

Honey is a very very special girl who is now looking for a stable new home.

We are not totally sure about her previous history, but we do know she needs to be settled ,adored and treated like a Doodle Duchess.

Honey was advertised on Pets 4 Home ,a kind person bought her in good faith.

Sadly this person’s circumstances changed, and reached out to our charity for help.

In this persons home Honey was being left for long periods of time ,not getting the adequate things a dog so requires in their daily routines.

We since have found a wonderful Foster who has supported Honey, and taken great care of her whilst in her home, with many thanks.

Since being with her Foster, she has recently gone through being spayed.

The vet believes has been used as a breeding bitch in her short life.

Putting the jigsaw together maybe it was the breeder who put Honey up for sale, because she had served the purpose of being used for breeding.

Honey is 6 years old so it would be the right age to stop any breeding.

This gorgeous girl now does deserves to be in a home where she can have all the love and attention ,in the many years she has left to live.

It’s sad for her past life ,but let’s make sure her future will be something special for her and her new owners.

Person at home with her, most important for Honeys well being

Honey we would like to rehome as an only dog

Children age 10 plus, who are dog savvy and respectful around dogs

No cats

No showboating :- Showboating is someone showing the rescue dog off as soon as they are adopted. Either taking the dog to see people, go to pub or have lots of visitors to your house to say hello in the first week or so. The first week is about you and the dogs getting used to each other, allowing time to adjust and learning to trust each other rather than showing the dog off.

Introducing other people outside of your immediate family who live with you ,only after the dog has had time to get used to you is key ,and by keeping visitors to absolute minimum helps avoid anxiety and stress.

A good size garden, that Honey can enjoy to snooze or have a play.

Fences & walls must be 6 foot high,if there’s are gates we will require them to,have a lock.

If you have any weekends away or any holidays planned please state on your application form.

If you live in rented accommodation ,we will require documentation that a dog can live within the property

Meet Honey

Type Bernedoodle (Bernese Mountain Dog who has been crossed with a Standard Poodle)

Colour we would class her as a Tri Colour ,now her fur is growing her colours are coming through beautifully

DOB March 2018

Spayed April 2024

Weight 33 Kilos

Height 25 inches approximately

Up to date with flea/tick and worming treatment

Honey has attended the vets whilst in foster care, just to give her a full health check.

Her nails were very long and needed trimming.

Honey’s right ear was inflamed the vet administered some drops to use ,this has now caused no further problems.(We do advise cleaning her ears weekly with CleanAural and a make up pad)

Her anal glands were expressed by the vet at this appointment also.

( adding extra fibre in your dogs diet will help reduce this happening)

Grooming Requirements

When Honey was surrendered to Doodle Aid her coat was very short ,this maybe because she was so matted the groomer had no option.

A matted coat can pull on a dogs skin causing pain and skin reactions.

Her coat is now starting to come back to its former glory, and Honey is looking so much better.

Her coat is a curly /wavy she sheds minimally, all dogs shed some amount.

We like her new owners to brush her every few days, rewarding her with a tasty treat.

To take her to a Professional Groomers as often as required we do think with Honey’s coat every 8 weeks would be satisfactory.

If your looking for a highly qualified groomer we suggest you look on the Groomers Spotlight https://www.thegroomersspotlight.com/owners

Groomers and Dog Trainers are not regulated so please do be cautious.

Exercise

When preparing Honey for going for a walk, she gets very happy and excited, raising up onto her hind legs. She is being taught by her Foster to sit and quiet ,before putting her harness on,it’s a slow process but she is learning to accept this and will get there, practice makes perfect.

Honey has been a little unsure on street walking and around people and dogs.

This could well be due to her past ,maybe not trained to interact & being confident during around certain things

Her foster has been working on Honeys confidence, building her up day by day.

Not pushing her ,just letting her adjust at her pace and time.

She was a puller on her leash, but using other gentle tools,Honey is learning to walk nicely by your side.

She is becoming better each day,but this training in a kind and positive manner will need to be continued.

The foster has been using a long training lead to teach Honey some recall, this is working and Honey is picking things up quickly.

We suggest hiring a private paddock where she can have a good run on her own,and the new owners can spend time teaching her some recall.

Honey can be dog reactive ,this means she may bark and lunge at particular dogs.Like us humans we do not like every human ,it’s the same in the dog world.

6 times out of 10 she will walk past other dogs on a short lead, with time and support this can be managed.

It’s best to walk her in quiet areas to start with where you can see dogs approaching.

All this can be managed but never expect things instantly ,Honey has had a hard life previously and may not even been socialised on street walking and meeting and greeting,we just don’t know.

Further Information

Honey is a truly remarkable girl after all she has been through, she still wants lots of affection and love.

You will never be lonely or unloved if you’re lucky enough to be Honeys new owner.

She will follow you to every room even to the toilet if you let her.

One of her quirks is she likes to drink straight from the tap ,so she may have been kept outside sometime in her previous life.

If you’re watching tv or on the computer she will settle by you,and even do a few snoring tunes.

The only command Honey knew was sit ,but that was a start ,in time she will learn more and more and wants to learn.

Honey sleeps on the foster bed ,she likes the security of being close.

Please if you’re lucky enough to become her new owners, do allow her to be close by at night.

She is non destructive in her home ,not touched furniture.

In her home previous to our foster home, she bin raided and counter surfed.

This was due to being left alone for hours I do not want to even mention.

Poor girl was probably bored and trying to find ways to entain herself ,as only she knew how.

Not crate trained, please do not encourage crate this as she does not need to be crated.

Honey maybe nervous in a new home ,toilet accidents may occur ,as can with any dogs entering a strange and new environment. Please do not tell her off ,allow her time to adjust. This may not even happen.

Honey was left for vast periods of time,we never want her in this position ever again.

We need a person at home with her ,to love and guide her and to know she will be ok now.

Honey was not overly keen in the car,but has since done a number of car journeys and has improved massively. With thanks to her foster.

Dislikes fast loud Lorrie’s,scooters and motor bikes.

Likes her soft toys , tennis balls she will destroy.

Honey really is a lovely girl,we all love her and in the right home with the perfect people she will gain her trust, confidence and together you will all have a wonderful future.

This is what Honey so deserves ……

All potential applications will be subjected to a full vetting & homecheck

Honeys adoption fee is £300.00 this will go back into our charity

Binky : Ready for Adoption

Please read very carefully before applying for Binky ,this is a sad situation so really need your help folks.

ONCE APPLICATIONS STATE CLOSE EVERYONE WILL BE CONTACTED

Location Bedfordshire Post Code Area MK43 ,you will be requested to travel attend several meet and greets.

Binky is a much loved family member, sadly his owner is not managing well after a bereavement in the family ,along with other personal circumstances out of their control.

Binky has to come first so this is why his owner desperately needs our help.

He has become too much for his owner to handle at times,he needs more than they can give him.

Sadly Binky has become an anxious boy,we do not know if this is because he lost one of his humans. This could well be a huge factor with his nervous behaviour.

We recommend some training and lots of reassurance.

Binky can be rehomed with another dog (we request several meet and greets ,until everyone is happy with the situation)

Children need to be aged 13 and over as Binky is a bit of a goof and doesn’t always know his own strengths.Would knock little persons over unattendually.Binky dislikes small children becomes anxious and will give a warning growl if they annoy him.

If you are planning to have children,or have visiting young children this is not the dog for you.

No cats please

A safe and secure garden,if you have a gate we request there’s a lock on it.

No showboating Binky for at least a week,he needs to settle in his new environment with his new people.

If you live in rented accommodation we will ask for documentation that a dog can live in this property.

If you have any holidays planned please state on your application form

Meet Binky

Type Labradoodle we believe an F1b (back cross with a Standard Poodle)

DOB February 2018

Colour Cream

Male who is neutered

Height 25 inches

Weight 32 Kgs

Microchipped and has been checked

Not up to date with his vaccinations (Doodle Aid is happy to occur costs )

Will need flea/tick and worming treatment

Had a few ear infections ,all treated and healed with medication from the vets.

We do advise checking Binky’s ears weekly and giving them a clean.

No known allergies we are aware of

Grooming Requirements

Binky has a curly coat, sheds mininally, all dogs shed some amount of hair

He has a wool coat ,brushed several times a week.

He does not mind the whole grooming experience ,he actually likes to be groomed.

Binky is professionally groomed every 6 weeks and is kept quite short.

Exercise

Binky gets walked once a day at present

He does pull on his lead,we suggest some loose lead training going forward.

His recall does need some working on,he will come back if you have a treat. Gets distracted by other dogs very easily ,so cannot be off his lead unless there is no one about.

We suggest doing some one to one training in a secure dog paddock, which can be hired at good rate.

When Binky is on his lead he tends to bark or growl at other dogs,if off lead we are told this situation is better.

Binky does attend a dog sitter and interacts with their dogs fine ,running around off lead in the garden and safe areas.

General Information

Binky is your typical goofy doodle, full of mischief, lively, bouncy, affectionate and gets anxious at times.

Not happy to be around young children, this makes him fearful ,he has never bitten but will give a warning growl if they come too close.

With adults once he gets to know them he is fine, sure some tasty treats will encourage him to be your forever friend.

With new people entering his home he will bark, but will settle in time.

Binky’s owners state he is an anxious dog, which can make him a bit 'jumpy' and prone to barking. At home, he barks at the postman and any delivery person. This makes him an excellent guard dog but it can be quite difficult when you want some peace and quiet.

Binky is toilet trained, but with any new dog coming into a new environment they may have an accident,so be prepared for any accidents.

At night time Binky sleeps in the kitchen

Binky can be left for 3 to 4 hours per day,we do not recommend leaving any dog any longer .

If you are to become his new owners we ask you take some holidays to settle him in his new home,he will be quite anxious as he has already lost a family member.

Binky has never been destructive in his home but please note he is a bin raider

He is not crate trained

Travels well in the car ,he sits on the back seat strapped into a dog seat belt.

Dislikes water so will not swim

Binky likes pulling on toys and pulling games. He also likes having toys thrown at him to catch.

Binky is a loving dog and likes to sleep with his head on your lap. He is quite anxious though which can be challenging in certain situations.

All potential applicants will be subjected to a full homecheck and we do request some ID.

The aadoption fee for Binky is £300.00 this goes back into the charity, and will also go towards his vaccinations as he has to start again with these.

Freddy : Reserved

Please read very carefully before applying for Freddy

Location Lewis BN7 you will be expected to travel to carry out several meet and greets

We have asked the owner’s permission to put these details on Freddy’s advert.

The reasons for needing to rehome Freddy are mainly financial. Not just about what he costs but his owner is desperately trying to get back into work after not being able to because of family situations. As a family they are also coming out of a prolonged period of quite significant mental health challenges and after supporting the children through individual situations as a single parent they are just exhausted and care worn.

They all adore Freddy and after long soul searching they feel they need to find Freddy a new home, where he is loved and well cared for, for the rest of his days.

Freddy needs to be an only dog in the home

Older dog savvy children ,13 and above ,this is due to Freddy resource guarding at times(if around visiting young children ,they will need to be supervised as all children should be supervised around any dog)

No cats

You will need a safe and secure garden ,if you have a gate it will need a lock on it

No showboating Freddy at least for the first week,he needs time to settle in his new environment with his new owners

If you live in rented accommodation we will require documentation, that a dog can live within the property

If you have a hoilday planned please state on your application form

Meet Freddy

Type Miniature Goldendoodle an F1b

Born September 2019

Colour Blonde

Male who has been neutered

Height 17 inches

Weight 13 Kgs

Microchipped and checked

Booster due March 2025

Up to date with flea/tick and worming treatment

Freddy suffers with some ear issues, this is quite common with poodle crosses.

They need to be checked and cleaned regularly going forward. He has been on ear drops recently.

A few years ago Freedy had issues with his third eyelid, thus resulting in corrective surgery.

Freddy was a wonderful puppy and they had no issues beyond the usual “teething” issues. Freddy completed puppy classes with dogs trust. Quite soon after he was allowed to be out and about and then we all went into lockdown. This obviously impacted him, his owners were always around people and people weren’t coming over, and weren’t interacting with people outside.

They have since gone forward and Freddy is doing better, even visits the pub with them.

Freddy is very affectionate, he loves sitting next to you on the sofa and really enjoys being petted. He’s very playful, loving playing with his family but also good at playing by himself. He has 4 teddies that he plays with most often. Two of them are his sort of snuggly teddies and he will pile them on top of each other and lie on them whilst also sucking bits of them. He settles quickly when he’s given one of these teddies (almost like a comfort blanket and a baby). This is particularly useful when they have people over. He has two other teddies that are his play teddies; he sort of wrestles and shakes them. He is not at all destructive with his toys, the two snuggly teddies were gifted to him by the children ,on the day he arrived with his family and they don’t even have holes in them. Outside he LOVES playing ball but his family don’t tend to encourage it because he get’s very obsessive with balls.

He is intelligent, and trainable…particularly because he’s very food orientated so will really pay attention and work out how to get the treat. His owners would say that he’s better with tricks than obedience. For example what his owners mean is he is very quick to lie down when given the command but as soon as he knows that he executed the command well he get’s up. His owners found it very difficult to get him to go to a “place” (bed for example) and wait until released. They went to agility classes for a few months and he moved from beginner to improver within just a few weeks, again because he was so food orientated he would focus on what he had to do in order to get the treat. Unfortunately they were not able to keep up the classes.

This might be something his new owners might like to continue with in the future.

Freddy doesn’t love other dogs but he’s not reactive towards them. As a young dog he got set upon by another dog, over a ball ,poor Freddy ended up with three puncture wounds. This could be why he is disinterested in most dogs. He can sometimes growl if a dog is overly persistent at trying to interact with him. Never out of the blue, there are always signs first. If he’s off the lead and a dog keeps trying to interact with him he will come back to his owner and stay very close and it’s only if his owner unable to shoo the dog away or call the owner that he will growl. He’s never bitten a dog and he doesn’t growl unprovoked. His owners Sister has a large rescue (husky/Alsatian looking) and a small chihuahua and they come over relatively regularly. Again Freddy tends to just ignore them. He does resource guard though so his owners have to tidy away his toys and take his food and water away (never for long) whilst they are here. Strangely he seems to know if the dog is another doodle x and he will be a bit more interested in playing with a doodle x for a few minutes.

Resource guarding is a bit of an issue. It’s fine with his owners because they know him and will always exchange whatever he’s got with food for example if they need to get something off him. He does snarl if you go to take something off him, again he hasn’t bitten anyone but I couldn’t say for sure that he WOULDN’T if someone just tried to take something off him. His owners are particularly conscious of him around children. He is quite happy to be approached and petted by children big and small but they always make sure they are there to supervise.

He enjoys playing catch with a friend’s 4yr old, a wanger is used so the child is never reaching for the ball with her hand.

Resource guarding can be managed as long as you see the signs and read a dogs body language

We as a charity do not advise giving long lasting treats to any dog that shows resource guarding issues.

A great book to read on the topic of resource guarding https://www.wob.com/en-gb/books/jean-donaldson/mine/9780970562944?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=18082217234&cq_con=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADZzAIC8rhpjvn5XzGnXS4-St2HSM&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImKSLhrmIhQMVPoBQBh1qnAOjEAQYASABEgLajfD_BwE#GOR003093103

He really does bark when people come to the door.(this is normal behaviour of a dog)Once he understands the person isn’t a “danger” he will be very friendly…grab a toy to bring over, does a tappy tappy thing with his feet. Really wanting attention. He does jump up and can get quite over excited at these times. It can take a little while to get him to settle when new people come into the house. He never humps or does “excitement wees”.

He is great on a walk, virtually 100% recall with his owners (slightly less with other people unless he knows they have treats). His owner always calls him back and holds him if he see horses etc but he doesn’t react to them even if they gallop past. He always likes to keep you in eyeline so even if he’s off the lead he will run up ahead but then wait for you to catch up. He pulls on the lead, currently uses a halti with him. He doesn’t like it and spends the first minute or two trying to get it off but adjusts to it quickly. He’s good at walking into town, not reactive to passers by, traffic, dogs etc. He enjoys going to the pub and will be quite happy there for an hour or so without issue. Any more the owner takes one of his snuggly teddies for him so he settles.

We as a charity would recommend some loose lead training.

He absolutely loves carrots, he enjoys chomping on a whole carrot or having little bits given to him as treats. He’s also quite fond of broccoli stalks. He begs and it looks like he’s fed off peoples plates the way he will sit by you when he eats, he absolutely isn’t he’s just food obsessed. His owner does not bother buying dog treats because he’s so happy with carrots, broccoli, bits of fish skin and the odd bit of meat scraps he goes mad for.

He has high energy and he’s definitely enthusiastic but he does also love to sleep. For example if his owner is working on the computer at home ,he will just be sleeping on the sofa but the minute they get up he is immediately ready and assuming something really exciting is going to happen.

Freddy sees a professional groomer every 8 weeks and he is kept short. He doesn’t like his feet being brushed or cleaned.

He only sheds minimally all dogs shed some amount of hair.

He isn’t too bad at being left on his own, he will generally bark as they leave, the neighbours say that unless someone comes to the door he settles quite quickly.

We as a charity state a dog should not be left any longer than 3 to 4 hours per day

He has never destroyed anything whilst his owners been out and will eat his food etc (they have been told that’s a good sign because if he was distressed he wouldn’t eat)

Freddy is toilet trained, but we do say with any new dog entering a new home an accident may occur

He likes to sleep on the end of his owners bed at night or on their sofa

Freddy is not crated or crate trained

He is not a huge fan of car travel,he will get in and pant never been sick in the car

Dislikes :- He hates the ironing board being put up. Can be a bit jumpy if things move unexpectedly...a broom that was leaning against the wall falling down etc.

Will bark at the Post Person.

Swimming and water :-His owners took him to a dog swimming pool a few times ,and he was happy to stay in whilst they were trowing a ball to him but once they stopped throwing the ball he just wanted to get out.

Freddy is ball mad, so much so that his owners keep them hidden because he will obsessively drop it at your feet/in your lap. They also rarely take a ball on a walk because he will "resource guard" it around other dogs .

Doodle Aids advice would be to wean him off any balls and ball games.

Freddy would love a home with active people to spend his days and nights with.

With persons willing to continue with a bit of training and perhaps to take him to agility in the future

It will be a great bonding experience for all involved.

Once you have read everything and feel Freddy is a suitable match please do apply.

Bobby : Applications closed

Please read very carefully before applying for Bobby

Location Surrey KT13 Post Code area ,you will be requested to travel to carry out several meet and greets.

Bobby is looking for a new home due to his owners personal circumstances.

Work circumstances have changed ,they feel Bobby needs a home with people that can give Bobby more time that they can offer him.

Bobby originally lived across the pond in New York and came over to the UK in 2021 with his family.

We are looking for a home where his new owners can carry on with some training.

Bobby can be reactive to “some” dog’s whilst he is on his lead, this will involve him barking and letting the other dog know he is here. He has never been aggressive around other dogs. This is something that has only started quite recently, could be to do with the change of dynamics within his home.

Two young children one a toddler the other being a baby, could be a protective issue.

He fabulous 98% of the time ,it’s just with certain dogs.

Bobby goes on regularly walks with a profession dog walker, who takes other dogs along on the walks with him. Whilst Bobby is off his lead he is pretty good with meeting and greeting other dogs . Bobbys recall is good but sometimes get distracted, by wildlife or if he sees another dog on a lead. Sporadically other dogs stay at his home with visitors and the family have looked after friends dogs and there has been no issues.

Bobby can be rehomed with another dog ,this would involve several meet and greets . We do this to make sure all parties are happy, especially the dogs.

Can be rehomed with older dog savvy children over 11 years old. This age restriction is because sometime Bobby can get jealous if the attention is not on him.

If the adults in the family are playing with their children, Bobby gets jealous and this may manifests as trying to mount one of adults legs.

Bobby cannot live with a cat,he may chase them.

Must be willing to continue with Bobby’s training.

No showboating Bobby in the first week,he needs time to settle in his new home with his new people.

Never let a new rescue dog off their leads until you have complete trust in one another, takes seconds for a dog to run away and not come back.

You must have a safe and secure garden with no gaps in fences, and a lock on any gates. Requires a home close to great walks and being able to go outside as he has become accustomed to this and would not suit City living.

If you have a holiday planned in the future please state on your application form

Meet Bobby

Type Miniature Goldendoodle

Born March 2020

Male who is neutered

Colour cream with a golden stripe on his back

Height 20 inches

Weight 17 Kgs

Microchipped

Vaccinated

Flea and Worming up to date

Had a few ear issues in the past ,maybe seasonal allergy related but not occurred since and not formally diagnosed.

Grooming Requirements

Bobby has a wavy coat, only sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount.

He is happy to be brushed and combed at home and has his paws washed on a daily basis. He is taken to a professional groomers every 6-8wks . Is washed weekly and is brushed periodically as we keep his coat relatively short. When his fur is longer he requires more regular brushing to avoid matting.

Exercise

Bobby 1-2 walks per day. 1 is a minimum of one hour, but frequently longer with the second a shorter walk, generally 30mins.

He does go off his lead, but we advise not doing this ,until he has complete trust with you in a safe and secure area. Bobby does not pull on his lead. He loves to run and explore on walks though always remains close by his owners. He used to love running around with other dogs as a puppy ,but in the last 2 years he is much more placid in that regard but is happily be in other dogs company.

Bobbys general obedience is generally good, and this can be improved with consistent training,as with any dog it’s always good to continue. His owners have worked on training Bobby and he has improved massively.

General Information

Bobby is a very easy going dog as a general rule. Bobby is very warm and loving, he absolutely adores being stroked/having people's full attention. When meeting new people he gets very excited and tries to greet them (he can jump owners are training him not to/this has reduced). Normally after the initial meeting he will calm down and chill out. He loves to lounge around, on anything comfortable or in the sunshine. Everyone who spends time with him always comments how easy he is to look after.

Bobby has never shown aggression to any person, including children.

He has frequently been taken to cafes/pubs and is always well behaved and sits under the table/chairs with no issues.

Despite being a lockdown puppy Bobby has been very well socialised, this is due to having a great family whom made sure he was exposed to many daily things in life.

Bobby is toilet trained, but any dogs can have accidents especially upon being in a new environment.

He is encouraged to sleep in his bed at night, however he will vary where he sleeps so when he doesn't chose his bed he will sleep on a sofa downstairs, under or on the bed of his owners or on the bed in the spare bedroom.

Bobby is generally fine being left alone. He will realise once his owners are leaving the house he will go to the door and sit on the mat and want to go with them. Once it’s clear they he is being left he will go and find somewhere to relax.

NOTE WE WILL NOT REHOME TO ANYONE THAT LEAVES A DOG ANY LONGER THAN 3 HOURS PER DAY.

Dogs are social animals and require human contact and stability.

Bobby has never been destructive in his home

Never been crated and we do not advise crating him

He is great in the car either in the boot of the car or on the seat/floor. He travels in a harness and has a seatbelt.

Bobby will rarely swim in the water but he can swim. He will happily paddle in water and does sometimes surprises his owners and runs in!

Bobby has know dislikes known by his owners

He is selective about playing with toys. He enjoys playing with squeaky tennis balls and balls/squeaky toys in the garden

If you live in rented accommodation we will need documentation that a dog can live in this property.

All potential applicants will be subjected to a full home check and vetting process.

An adoption fee of £300 will apply, this goes back into the charity to help other dogs.

He is very much loved by his owners ,they feel he needs to be with person or person that are at home with him ,to give him more than they can at present.

Important :- Brewster suffers with separation anxiety this means he cannot at present be left for any periods of time.

He will get very anxious and barks if he is left home alone.

Their next door neighbours are not dealing with Brewster barking.

His owners have been working on his behaviour, but this behaviour is not an instant fix.

There are a few books that might be of interest for his potential owners

Firstly a puppy guide to separation anxiety https://www.wob.com/en-gb/books/julie-naismith/be-right-back-puppy-separation-anxiety-edition/9781999296629?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=19553276147&cq_con=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADZzAIBGzHPDVCLmhbtnaiJxR0Z4F&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIu7bI8pz0hAMVT5NQBh2J3gDTEAQYASABEgI4rvD_BwE#GOR011944501

Honey : Foster found

URGENT FOSTER WITH A VIEW TO ADOPT ,OR WE MAY ACCEPT A STRAIGHT ADOPTION WITH AN EXPERIENCED DOG OWNER/OWNERS

NEED TO FIND THE RIGHT PLACEMENT FOR HONEY ASAP

(This is due to being left too long throughout the day,no garden and lack of finances )

LOCATION Oxfordshire

Honey is looking for a new home due to her owners personal circumstances, finding things taxing with the rising inflation rates, has to now work all hours ,and a partnership breakdown.

Because of the above had to move into a flat ,without a garden and managing things as best as possible.

Honeys owner wants the best for Honey, more than what her owner can give her,and wants to put Honeys needs over her own.

Honey has been with her owner just over a year ,she was purchased online not knowing too much history.

It’s hard when you buy online you may never find out everything you need to know.

She will flinch if you raise your arms too quickly, whilst near her.

After two weeks Honey started to become reactive whilst being walked on her lead,if she saw another dog she would bark & pull to get near them.

Her owner has had a Dog Trainer out to assess this behaviour, and they felt it was fear based anxiety.

Honeys owner has been working on this using different training aids, and Honey is improving.

She is non aggressive and has never bitten we are informed.

Obviously we would like this training to continue, and be managed.

Honey does live with another dog a different breed, they get along fine and she does stay with friends dogs.

Because of her reactive nature with some dogs ,we will not foster or rehome her with another dog in the home,as if things do not work out we do not want to rehome her again.

DO NOT APPLY IF YOU HAVE A DOG

CAN LIVE WITH DOG SAVVY CHILDREN 12 AND OVER

NO CATS

MUST HAVE A SAFE AND SECURE GARDEN ,WITH AT LEAST 6ft HIGH WALLS OR FENCES

ANY GATES LEADING TO THE BACK GARDEN ,WILL REQUIRE A LOCK

IF YOU HAVE A HOLIDAY PLANNED PLEASE STATE ON YOUR APPLICATION FORM

Meet Honey

Type Bernedoodle

Born March 2018

Colour Grey & White

Female not spayed (she will be contracted under our terms and conditions )

Height 24 inches

Weight 34 Kilos

As far as we are aware not been used for breeding

Microchipped

Booster due July 2024

Flea/tick/worming all administered in January 2024

Honey did haven an ear infection ,had to go under GA at the vets ,to get them cleaned.

(Please check and clean her ears weekly )

She also is a bin raider ended up at the vet ,as she ate something she shouldn’t have.

No known allergies

Grooming Requirements

Honey has a very well looked after coat, she is groomed regularly.

She has a wool coat, which is wavy/curly ,only sheds minimally ,as all dogs do shed some amount.

She is professionally groomed every 6 weeks ,may need a bath inbetween if required.

Groomer may check Honey’s ears ,some do pluck if required

Whilst on the grooming table she may not like to stand for long periods, the groomer may need to allow for breaks.

Exercise

Honey is walked for 1 hr and 30 mins a day

Really could benefit having more stimulation ,and human interaction plus one to one training.

Her recall is good if no distractions,we do not advise allowing her off lead until there’s fully commitment and trust in all involved.

If a being fostered we do not allow foster dogs off lead, until in a pre paid hired dog paddock

Honey will pull on her lead if she spots another dog,and will bark at them

She will respond to commands, but you need to be positive, kind and consistent at all times.

High value treats will help with her training going forward.

Honey was not well socialised when her owner got her,but has improved vastly.

She is not the sort of dog you can take into cafes and restaurants at the moment, but in time with training this may become a thing in the future.

It’s a myth you cannot teach dogs old tricks you can,it’s how much time you put into any dog bonding learning together.

General Information

Honey came to her owner with some behaviour issues, and hats off to her owner she has continued to carry on helping Honey to improve.

She had some separation anxiety issues, but this has been getting better she can be left for a number of hours now.

With her owners work commitments she has been left longer than maybe Honey would prefer.

We would like her to be in a home ,where a foster or owners can spend more time with her.

When her owner comes home she will get excited and jump up,if there’s a toy in reach it’s best to distract her with the toy,and she will carry it around in her mouth.

When it’s time to go out for a walk ,you go pick her harness and collar up she gets over excited.

Honey is a great dog ,very affectionate, enjoys human company and likes to please.

Honey is toilet trained ,but as with any new dog entering a strange environment ,please be prepared for any accidents.

She sleeps in her owners bedroom at night on her bed, dislikes being on her own at night time.

Honey is not crate trained and is terrified of being put into a crate

Please do not leave bin bags out as she is also a bin raider

Will counter surf if any food is left in her reach

Sometimes has open kitchen cupboards

Never destroyed furniture or furnishings in the home

Can open doors herself

Not very keen on car travel, will go on the back seat in a harness or in the boot

Never crate her in the car, dislikes crates

She has never been car sick

Dislikes the noise of Van’s and Lorries

Does not like water ,not sure if she would like swimming

She loves playing fetch with footballs/tennis balls and likes to have soft toys to have in her mouth when she’s excited but won’t play with them that often.

She will break tennis balls so she has a glow in the dark ball ,because it’s stronger and she doesn’t break it. She loves footballs but will pop them within 2 minutes. She doesn’t like being closed in a room on her own she likes to be by your side.

Honey is an adorable dog and maybe not had the best of starts in life, maybe missed some vital social interactions from puppyhood growing into an adult.

In the right home with the right people we are sure she would be very happy and learn to become your best friend.

It’s always what we as humans need to do to guide and love these precious dogs,we are the example to them.

If you live in rented accommodation ,please be prepared to produce documentation that a dog can live in your property.

As per advert if your considering to foster with a view to adopt,Doodle Aid will supply all,Honeys needs, the foster will need to liaise with us with with what she requires.

Her Foster will need to be prepared to take Honey to appointments when needed,ie vets, groomers and perhaps working with a dog trainer.

If you feel your an experience dog owner we will consider to adoption her ,but there will be a strong vetting system in place.

All homes either foster or to adopt will have a vetting and a homecheck in place.

Applications closed.

We are a small team and may not answer emails or messages promptly,as maybe attending to other charity duties.

Thank you

Reggie is walked twice daily on his lead for 45/60 minutes.

Is recall is good with his owner most of the time.

We do not recommend any off lead walks ,until you get to know any rescue dog 100%

Reggie can pull on his lead especially if he sees another dog,as he wants to get near and play.

Whilst out a few dogs have been reactive to Reggie and he has been reactive back.

Some dogs do not like entire males so this could be one cause.

Plus not all dogs like certain dogs, like us humans do not like some other humans.

Reggie has never bitten anyone be it human or another dog.

He loves to say hello to other dogs (on or off lead) and will play if they will play with him. His owner has been stopping him from saying hello to try to teach him not to pull.

Reggie definitely could do with some loose lead training and even some one to one training with a qualified dog trainer.

General Information

Reggie is a super doodle full or life and fun,he is quick to learn and just needs people willing to give him want he needs.

Reggie is generally very lively and bouncy, he love’s attention and to be cuddled and stroked. When at home after his walks he is very calm and will lie down and snooze.

Loves to have his toys and balls and fetch with him. When other people arrive at his home he will be much more excited. Reggie would love to sit on their sofa with but they don’t allow him too.

So if you have a Reggie dent in your sofa he would like to fill it.

Reggie will bark when people arrive at the door ,and when they come in,he will soon settle when they settle.

When Reggie was younger he did attend training classes but a typical goofy Doidle he disrupted the class, and his owner felt embarrassed to go back.

He has been better learning from his owner directly, she has been doing some home training with Reggie.

Reggie is toilet trained, but we do say always expect the unexpected accident May occur with a new dog entering a strange and new environment.

Reggie has the run of his home he can sleep where he feels comfortable.

He can be left at home for a maximum of three hours only, his owners have not left him any longer as it’s not fair on him.

If home alone and the post is popped through the door,he will rip it up.

Suggest a mail box outside ,or a cage attached to the inside of your letter box

Was crate trained as a puppy, when he reached six months he no longer required a crate

Travels well in the car the furthest he has been is about 2 hours once. He gets noisy when he realises where he is going if it’s for an off lead walk.

Dislikes loud noises near him can sometimes make him jump. He’s fine with fireworks if he’s in or out of the house unless they’re very close or noisy.

Reggie likes the water will just jump straight in.

Reggie love’s squeaky toys. He likes to chase and bring back but likes you to tug with him to get it back. Once relinquished he loves to chase it again. When outside he will chase birds. He loves to do this on the prom or beach.Best not to encourage bird chasing, reward to bring him back.

If you live in rented accommodation we will need written documentation that a dog can live in your property

All potential applications will submitted to a full vetting and homecheck

Benji ; Now adopted

Benji the Cavapoo is seeking a Foster home with a view to adopt

Please read fully before submitting your application form

Benji is located in Derbyshire ,we will expect the fosters to carry our several visits if they own a dog.

This gorgeous young boy is looking for a Foster home with a view to adopt, his owner adores him tremendously ,but are not managing his everyday needs.

Benji’s owner has personal issues in her life ,and feels Benji is not getting all he requires.

He needs regular walks, some stimulation, lots of rest in between and the most important aspect socialising and training.

He is very quick to learn and would thrive in an active home ,with people whom are willing to support him, with Doodle Aid on hand as support.

Benji has never been left for any long periods of time, and when left he will bark and scratch doors. This is something that will need addressing ,with time love and patience.

We all have to remember Benji is still only a puppy, still a bit mouthy, and tends to jump up when excited.

We are looking for a Foster home with Fosters willing to put in the time to train him,to take him to appointments, vets ,groomers etc.

Persons who are at home ,and can walk him regularly on his lead, give him stimulation and help with his separation anxiety.

Would suit active household, that enjoy the great outdoors as Benji is a little pocket rocket full of energy and beans.

We are happy for him to be Fostered with “ONE”other dog ,or as a “ONLY “but the Fosters we request are experienced dog owners.

Can go with children over the age of 12 but the parents need to be aware Benji still jumps up.

No cats in the home

As stated persons at home ,this is very important

Safe and secure garden,not communal

If you have any day trips or holidays planned please state on the Foster form

Meet Benji

Type Cavapoo

Colour Black & Tan(phantom)

Born July 2023

Male

Not neutered far to young ,will be contacted under our terms and conditions

Height 18 inches

Weight 15 Kilo’s

Is microchipped and checked

Booster due September 2024

Up to date with Flea/tick and worming treatments

No known allergies or previous illnesses

Grooming Requirements

Benji has a super soft wavy coat ,it’s becoming more curly as growing into an adult.

Minamally sheds all dogs shed some amount.

Dislikes being brushed so this would need to be worked upon, using some tasty snacks.

Attends a Professional Groomers every 8 weeks.

This would be arranged with Doodle Aid whilst in Foster care

Exercise

Benji is not getting the exercise required this is where his owner is struggling.

We like the Fosters to take him out for more walks throughout the day.

None of our Foster dogs should be allowed off lead for safety reasons.

Benji is learning his recall and at this stage, his owners state he is good.

We are happy for Fosters to hire a paddock to work on recall and training ,this must be cleared with us firstly if you like us to pay.

Benji will pull on his lead, again some loose lead training will be needed going forward.

Can be wary around larger dogs whilst out,if they bark at him he gets nervous, this is more than likely due to not being out and about much.

General Information

Benji is your typical fun loving, attention seeking, happy bouncy doodle, full of energy and wants your full attention all the time.

As stated he gets very excited and will jump up,and may puppy mouth.

He is non aggressive just does not know his boundaries ,and still exploring with his mouth not with intent.

He can be a bit of a monkey with guarding his own food ,and we will state no long lasting treats as he may guard them too.

These are all simple things to manage going forward, you would just need to be prepared to help him manage these situations ,and be sensible with food around him.

Benji lives with an older dog ,but the older dog cannot cope with the constant annoying puppy behaviour.

The older dog will just go off and will not give him any warning signs to say that’s enough.

He would better with a dog that’s has experienced living with an energetic puppy,so please take this into consideration.

Or he can live as an only dog

Will counter surf, please keep kitchen workspace clear as you can

Benji is toilet trained and will bark when he needs to go out.

Like with any rescue dog we also state there might be no accidents or a few ,every dog is different entering a strange environment.

He sleeps in the kitchen at night but gets distressed on his own.

We would advise the Fosters to spend time with him at night until settled.

When a very young puppy he did chew a few items,as getting older he has not done this since. Not saying he will not chew things as you never know with any dogs.

He is not crate trained, and if considering crate training this takes time

Benji travels well in the car ,we like him in a safe harness strapped in the seatbelt.

He has never been in contact with water,so unknown if he likes swimming

Favourite games are playing fetch with his ball.

Once you have read all the important information we are happy to start taking applications, just because you see a cute puppy photo there’s more than just a photo to think about.

You have to be fully committed in fostering and giving this sweet boy some much needed training.

All expenses will be honoured by our charity,if you need anything please do contact us firstly as we can arrange to get anything requested as and when you need it for Benji.

We will give support with a fully qualified Dog Trainer if necessary, never struggle we are always here for support .

Doodle Aid is here to support Fosters and Benji so do not hesitate to contact us.

All potential foster homes will be subjected to a full vetting and homecheck

If you live in a rented property we will request documentation that a dog can live in this property.

Please read carefully before applying for Aang or Angus

Location Kirkcaldy ,Post Code area KY2 in Scotland

Little Aang’s family feel they cannot give him all he requires, they like him settled in a home where people are home with him all day.

They love him dearly ,but feel there’s a family out there that can match his needs more than them.

Little Aang suffers with separation anxiety,he truly is a Velcro dog and just loves the attention and closeness of being with people.

If left alone he will get himself into a state of panic, start panting and will bark.

Whilst left alone he will pace up and down, waiting for his owners to return home.

They have not been out for over an hour because they are worried about Aang’s anxiety, and if he will disturb their neighbours.

It’s taken a toll on the family because of the stress of leaving him, makes them feel guilty.

Exercise

He has a big back garden he uses multiple times a day, he also has a 15 minute ball fetch games twice a day. He also like to play find it game, with his ball.

Aang’s does pull on his lead,he will need some loose lead training going forward.

Will need training with his recall ,Aang does not go off lead at all. (Doodle Aid would suggest some one to one training in a safe pre paid dog paddock )or working with a qualified Dog Training to help this little lad improve on a few training aspects.

Whilst out on his walks he may bark at other dogs, bout if you produce a high value treat and give it to him he will stop. Some dogs he is timid around and will shy away from them.

Aang does not attend any activities but he may benefit at some stage in doing some activities ie perhaps scent training or even agility.

General Information

Aang is a super little dog ,who loves life to the full, loves to be around humans and wants to be with you 24/7.

Aang is very excited to greet people, he is very friendly but can jump up at times, he loves playing ball games, but also loves to lounge about and lay on our lap.

He is a non aggressive dog, never bitten just wants to be loved.

Aang’s general obedience is good, especially if there is a treat waiting, he will sit, give paw, he knows down (lay down) he knows bed (go to his area) he knows off and leave it.He is an intelligent little boy and quick to learn.

He is toilet trained ,will scratch at the back door to go out into the garden.( Note with any rescue dog entering a strange environment there maybe a few accidents)

Aang sleeps in his large crate at night with his special blankets, which he gets all snuggly with.

Baxter : NOW ADOPTED

URGENT APPEAL PLEASE FOLKS ,LOOKING FOR A FOSTER WITH A VIEW TO ADOPT OR A STRAIGHT ADOPTION.

Please read carefully before applying for Baxter ,thank you

Baxter is located in DoncasterPost a code area DN2 .

The potential applicant ,will be expected to do several meet and greets.

We would like to rehome Baxter only an hour or so away,as he does not take to long distance car travel well.

Baxter’s owners are heartbroken they are having to rehome Baxter.

Sadly the dynamics within their family are very hard,as caring for a sick relative, has become too much for them all.

This is having a negative impact on Baxter, and they feel his needs are more than they can give him at present.

Baxter is located in a boarding kennel some of the week ,as there is nobody else to care for him whilst family are visiting the poorly relative.

He cannot go with them as he does not travel distances well in a car.

Baxter is not coping well being away from his family ,and this has resulted in him becoming shy and timid at times.

He has some resource guarding issues ,but if offered a custard cream as a swap,he will submit the item.

May counter surf if things are at his level,so please keep things out of his reach.

Laundry needs to put away ,as he might run off with an item, sure neighbours do not want to see him swinging smalls around

Paper tissues, kitchen and toilet rolls he will shred given the opportunity.

As Doodle Aid as a caring charity ,feel we need to find him a temporary home or a permanent home asap.Baxter needs human companionship and does not cope very well with kennel life.

Think maybe using a kennel when necessary and then coming back home might be confusing for him.

NO ther dogs ,or visiting dogs on the household

NO cat's,will bark or chase

Can be in a home with children over 10 years old,who are dog savvy

A secure garden ,gates must have a lock ,not communal garden

Persons at home most of the day would be preferred ,as Baxter is not getting the training and attention he requires.

People that have the time to put into Baxter’s care, lots of nice walks, playtime, some training, giving him the confidence to shine again.

If you have a holiday planned please note this on your application form

Meet Baxter

Type Cockapoo

Born July 2020

Colour Black with white flecks on chest

Male who is neutered

Height 16 inches

Weight 16 Kilo’s

Microchiped

Booster due August 2024

Up to date with flea/tick and worming treatments ,administered January 2024

No known allergies

Previous health issues are as follows :-

Baxter when younger suffered with Steroid responsive meningitis - fully recovered, previous ear infection, fully recovered.

Grooming Requirements

Baxter has a curly coat, sheds minimal all dogs shed some amount.

He is brushed through at home several times a week, not keen on the process a custard cream may help him through this task

Attends a Professional Groomers every 6 weeks

Exercise

Baxter is walked twice a day ,at weekends it was longer but this has lapsed a little due to the information above.

He does go off his lead, only in a safe and secure area,we do not advise this until you have complete trust in one another.

All our foster dogs we do not allow off lead unless a paddock is hired.

His recall can be good, but if distracted by chasing birds this goes out the window.

Baxter can walk well on his lead, but if he gets excited he may pull.

He loves to spend his time sniffing everything.

He does not take part in any activities, but he would be a great example to start agility or scent work.

Whilst out on his walks Baxter can sometimes be ambivalent other dogs ,he will have a sniff, and move on.

General information

Baxter is a fun, loving, active, energetic boy,he likes to be close by his owners, not overly affectionate but likes to sit right by them.

He is looking for comfort and attention, just knowing you are close by makes him feel loved.

Because Baxter is timid he may take a little while to gain confidence with you, once he has your trust he will be your friend.

Will bark if there’s a knock at the door ,if people visit he will eventually warm to them in his own time.

Once he gets your attention he is a happy fella.

Baxter has never bitten a human or another dog.

His general obedience is good ,he knows sit,lie down, gives paws and when ask to stop he will follow your command.

If Baxter is looking out the window in his home ,and sees a cat he will bark.

With Baxter there’s always room for improvement as with any dog ,keep things constant and carry on with some training.

Baxter is toilet trained, but we always say be prepared for the odd accident, with any rescue dog entering a new and strange environment.

He sleeps in his owners bedroom at night,on their bed

Can be left for short periods of time,no longer than a few hours as he likes company.

Baxter is not crate trained

Car travel Baxter can manage short journeys ,doesn't like travelling much, he sits and drinks, owners use a car harness.

Baxter dislikes like motorbikes, sirens, owners live quite near a hospital which does not help with the noise.

He loves water especially the dirtier the better, not sure if he swims

Baxter loves to play ball ,but does not bring it back, likes squeaky toys and a frisbee.

Baxter loves to be the centre of your world, unfortunately he is being pushed to the sidelines through no fault if his own. He would thrive with someone at home...not working all day to focus on extending his training.

In the right home Baxter will bloom with the aid of persons willing to help him grow again into a bright sunflower.

If you live in a rented accommodation we will require documentation that a dog can live in this property.

Any potential applicants we will have a full vetting system in place ,including a homecheck.

If you are happy to foster Baxter ,Doodle Aid will provide full support and pay for his needs in his foster home.

The fosters we would be grateful,if they can take him to appointments when necessary ie vets or groomers and to carry out some training if requested.

If a preference is a straight adoption ,his adoption fee is £300 which goes straight back into the charity.

CLOSED

We are a small team of two so be patient with us if you message,as we are not always quick to respond as busy doing other duties.

Thank you

Marigold Jane is looking for a new home ,due to her owner having difficulties herself with reaching Marigold Jane’s needs.

On several occasions Marigold Jane ,has managed to kill several chickens in the village.

This really was not her fault, natural instinct kicked in ,both were in the wrong place at the wrong moment.

Chicken was loose on a footpath,Marigold Jane was off lead, the rest is history sadly.

The other time Marigold Jane was visiting friends with her owner, sadly she was off lead in the garden and managed to get in with the chickens.

Sadly now her owner is worried Marigold Jane, might escape & get loose and it will happen again, and she will get shot by a farmer.

Think Marigold Jane may of got a reputation in her Village.

Also her owner had an off lead incident going back to the car,Marigold Jane ran onto a major A road, nearly resulting in a tragedy.

Her owner now has come to the sad decision that she cannot manage Marigold Jane ,scared she pulls her over and she will hurt herself and she may fall.

Whilst Her owner visits larger Towns and Cities ie friends in London,Marigold Jane is very good in built up areas, and tends to prefer this lifestyle.

Doodle Aid
Cassie & Teddy : Now Adopted

THIS IS AN URGENT APPEAL FOR A SPECIAL HOME WITH SPECIAL PEOPLE

Please read very very carefully ,all the information we provide is detailed in this advert.

We are looking for a home a very special home for two young Australian Labradoodles.

Cassie and Teddy are litter siblings they are two years old.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

Cassie was diagnosed with Addisons Disease in January 2023 which can be managed and controlled with the correct medication. Other charities have spoken about euthanasia which should never happen to a young dog, with a condition that can be easily managed and therefore we are looking to help rehome these two together. Where there’s a will there’s always a way.

Teddy is fully fit, a happy healthy boy. In February 2023 he managed to obtain Parvovirus,he was a sick boy,but because his immune system was strong he managed to fight it off with the support of the vet and was very lucky indeed to pull through.

WE WILL ONLY REHOME TOGETHER ,WE WILL NOT SEPARATE THEM

You will need to be fully committed in giving them both the best life they so deserve, and continue Cassie’s medical treatment for her lifespan.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

Cassie was diagnosed with Addisons Disease January 2023, she receives monthly injection of Zycortal, along side 2.5mg of prednisone steroid in tablet form daily. Because this is a pre existing condition her new owners will NOT be able to insure for this condition. As a responsible charity we will discuss a few options going forward with her new owners.

The costing for the injections is around £100 per month, maybe cheaper if you obtain a prescription via the vet and purchase online.

The Pred (steroids) are much cheaper pennies compared to the injection.

Cassie will also need her bloods checking to make sure she is balanced.

This could be anything from 3 months, 6 monthly or as and when required if you notice any changes. Cassie blood balance was last check in November 2023 and is stable and doing great. As with all vets in the UK treatment prices and drug prices can vary,it’s always best to shop around, even when purchasing drugs online.

Please please do not let any of the above conditions put you off rehoming these two wonderful, sweet natured dogs. We cannot turn our back on them both,we need your help folks.

ONLY WILL REHOME THEM TOGETHER NOT WITH OTHER DOGS IN THE HOME

WILL CONSIDER REHOMING WITH CHILDREN OVER 7 YEARS OLD THAT ARE DOG SAVVY

NO CATS NEVER LIVED CATS

WE REQUEST A SAFE AND SECURE GARDEN

NO FULL TIME WORKERS THESE DOGS NEED COMPANY AND TIME TO ADJUST

Cassie likes the water and will explore, lakes, ponds and rivers.

Her owners have said they have not experienced anything Cassie dislikes.

She is a very easy happy go lucky girl, who loves life and enjoys human company, loves her Brother Teddy.

there is no reason Cassie would not make a perfect companion, all we ask is to keep her medication in control and blood tests in check when required.

Dislikes loud bangs,is fine with fireworks if in the far distance

Loves playing fetch with ball .Chase and hide and seek

Can be left for short periods of time maximum per day a few hours.

( whilst any rescue dogs settle in a home we would like the new owners to be at home) not passing the dogs around to friends and family, they need to get to know you firstly.

Teddy loves being around people and happy to say hello to strangers. Is somehow aware if a stranger does not want to be disturbed.

Teddy is a very intelligent dog. Both Teddy and Cassie understand a good number of words and follow commands such as sit, shake hands, fetch, drop it, walk and many more?

Are both so happy to please their human companions.

Please please give your, heart and love to such a fabulous pair of doodles.

If we cannot help and rehome them together, we are worried what will become of them both, especially Cassie

If you live in rented accommodation ,we will require written presentation that a dog can live in this property .

Any potential applications will have a long phone call with one of our Trustee’s,along with a full homecheck to follow.

Adoption fee for both dogs with be discussed at the homecheck stage.

Because of Cassies condition it’s more important to find the right homes, than the thought of money.

Honey : Now adopted

Please read this advert for Honey fully before applying

Location Chatham in Kent ,ME4 Postcode area

The potential applicant will be required to travel to do several meet and greets, before an adoption takes place.

Honey has been in a marvellous foster home for many weeks ,here she has been assessed by her foster parents along with some training by them.

They have kindly taken her to the vet, for a full health check ,as a responsible charity we like to have all foster dogs checked over on arrival.

Her Foster parents have also taken Honey for a groom, she was a very good girl at the groomers.

Now is the time for Honey to find her forever home,so we are putting her up for adoption.

Her foster family have found Honey to be a pure delight ,a lively affectionate dog,and would make the right person or persons very happy.

The only negative which can easily be resolved is her recall ,time patience lots of practice in a safe environment ,we are sure she will become much better.

We do not recommend letting Honey off her lead unless you can hire a safe secure field/paddock and work on her recall.

This note was from her original owner

Honey must not be be given food around other dogs ,this includes treats as she can be food aggressive around other dogs.

Dislikes small babies the noise of crying etc she gets worried and wants to hide.

Honey needs to be the ONLY DOG a in the home

Children over the age of 10 only (who are dog savvy) no visiting babies or small children it unnerves her.

Does not live with a cat ,has been to a visitors house with cats will chase them

No full time workers,Honey thrives on human company and needs to be secure and settled with people around her.

We are looking for a home where people are at home ,not passed around to family, friends and doggy day care.

A rescue dog needs their adoptive family at home with them to settle them into their daily lives.

A safe & secure garden is a must,not a communal garden

If you have a holiday planned please state on your application form, along with where Honey would go whilst you are away

Honeys recall needs some working on,would benefit with some training classes, good bonding for all.

She is toilet trained but with any new dog coming into a strange environment, please always expect the unexpected.

We would advise sleeping in the same room as Honey as she might be out of sorts with another move, she will need some reassurance.

Non destructive in her home

Honey is not crate trained

She travels well in the car,all does should be secured in a car whilst travelling

Honey dislikes the big bad vacuum cleaner

She adores the water

Her favourite pleasure is her toys and her ball

She needs a home where her new owners are very fit and active ,with people willing to put the time in to train her and be with her throughout the day.

WE NEED YOUR HELP URGENTLY ,VERY URGENT SITUATION

YES A PUPPY STILL LEARNING

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE BASED IN SCOTLAND,WE CAN DISCUSS TRANSPORT.

NO OTHER DOGS

CHILDREN 13 AND OVER

NO CATS

PEOPLE WHO LOVE DOGS ,WITH TIME TO HELP FLYNN BLOSSOM ,AND TRAIN,SUPPORT AND LOVE HIM

IF YOU WORK FROM HOME HE WILL BARK ,AS HE IS CONFUSED

WITH TIME THIS WILL PASS AS HE NEED TO BE GUIDED

A SAFE SECURE GARDEN IS REQUIRED

NO HOLIDAYS PLANNED WHILST IN FOSTER ,UNLESS IN AGREEMENT PRIOR TO FOSTERING

ALL EXPENSES AND SUPPORT PROVIDED BY DOODLE AID

PLEASE HELP FOR THE SAKE OF THIS GORGEOUS BOY

Flynn is based in Ayr in Scotland a family adopted a very short time ago.

After a few days they were not happy with the dog ,even though we as a charity ,were transparent about everything as was his previous owners.

A few days later they want to keep the dog, next message the dog has to go.

This has been continually going back and forth with us even though we are doing our upmost to find a foster home.

Now we have just been informed ,one of the families members is NOT a doggy person, despite them having a dog previously.

This was not reflected when we vetted the family.

We have had several applications with multiple dogs, child who are too young,or people going on holiday imminently.

This just would not suit Flynn and his needs.

He is a large lolloping goofball going through adolescence which will pass as this is normal puppy behaviour.

He just need guidance ,support and love.

He pulls on his lead ,will just jump to pull and teeth his lead.

Simple answer use a chain link lead until he learns, this is not the done thing.

The new owners were aware of this, and he has accidentally caught the owner, whilst on his walk.

Also in the home he has not been manage well around food ,this has resulted

in him pinching food and worrying their Son,whilst eating and getting food.

All this is not the puppies fault, they were informed he was a foodie.

He is just a confused poor puppy that has not known what or where to go,it’s a sad situation.

He just need an urgent foster who will support, love ,train and give him the stability that he is missing.

Doodle Aid will do everything to support the fosters,we just need to get him moved ASAP .

EMERGENCY FOSTER REQUIRED

PLEASE READ FULLY THANK YOU ,YOU NEED TO MEET THE REQUIRED

His new owners are now returning him as all his quirks have appeared.

Poor dog needs to find a stable home ,with people willing to understand and work with this young dogs training.

Please do not apply if you think rescue dogs are a quick fix, please do not apply if you work from home and do not expect a dog to bark.

Dogs bark for a reason it’s because they are wanting something or alerted by something,or just trying to work out why they are in a strange place with strange people.

As stated in a previous post we humans talk and other humans understand us,sadly dogs cannot talk.So you have to work out why a dog is barking ,by figuring out why it’s barking,it’s like a missing piece in a jigsaw puzzle.

This boy is food mad counter surfs and carrying plates around near him, eating near him only encourages his behaviour.Best to teach him how to manage the food issues, and for humans to be more understanding and help him with these issues.Dogs love food it’s only natural they will grab things if left around,so we as humans need to be on top of situation before they happen.

Easily resolved just don’t leave things out,and pop things well away from him.

Eat in another room,or at a high table asking him to sit and be positive about his training.

Counter tops cleared and keep food away from him,no bins left around, until the training is starting to become clear to him, work with him and he will get there but it’s not an instant fix with any dog ,time and patience is the key.

It’s not only about his training we as humans need to retrain ourselves with dogs, sadly dogs are not robots.

Rescue dogs are in rescue for a reason ,they need more support.

He has also got hold of a sock in this last week,be good if socks are perhaps put away in draws or washing baskets.

He is a puller on a lead ,needs loose lead training,it’s not an art it’s practice with nice treat.

No showboating any dog that’s been recently adopted or in foster.

They need security and love by his new people firstly, before any of this occurs.

It’s so sad he has to be moved again through not fault of his own ,he must be very confused and let down by everyone including Doodle Aid.

We have been so transparent not sure what else we could have done.

He is now based in Scotland and will need his new fosters to collect him.

We do give a fuel allowance and 24/7 support as much as we can.

All food, vet bills, groomers, trainers will be paid by Doodle Aid and we will discuss fostering further with the potential fosters.

Please please be certain you can help, and do not go in blind the information is here on this post,we do not want to let this boy down again

Another move will not improve his quirks it will set him back.

He needs a place to settle, not be left,he needs the attention and training to help him grow and flourish.

Please read carefully before applying to foster Flynn

Location Now Ayr inScotland

Fosters who will have time to understand Flynn’s needs, not expect a dog not to bark, dogs bark for a reason.

If your a homeworker be prepared to put in time, for walking, training and for any noise he may make.

He needs a solid home with love and the attention he is crying out for, this dog needs so support and is desperate to just be guided correctly.

Prefer him to be an only dog,but will consider one calmer older dog

Can live with children aged 13 and over ( please note children need to be respectful around Flynn at all times ,as they should be with any dogs)be wary with food around him.

It would be near impossible to look after Deeks ,so putting his priorities first his owner wants the best home for her boy.

No going through the puppy period, all they want is to be loved and well cared for.

Please please do not pass him by older dogs deserve so much more.
