Bear : Now adopted

Please read this advert carefully ,before submitting your application

Location Blackpool FY3 Post Code area

Bear is looking for a quiet home where he can get the attention he so desires, with some training in place.

At present he is living in a lovely home , his owner is finding it increasingly difficult with going back to work and leaving Bear.

Bear suffers with separation anxiety and cannot cope being on his own for any given time.

The longest he has been left is 10/15 minutes whilst his owners reviewed him on their security camera.

He barks, howls and paces if left alone, and gets himself very distressed.

His owners feels Bear needs a home ,where a person or persons has the time to be with him and help him overcome his fear of being left alone.

This will not be an instant fix ,but it can be managed slowly in the right home.

Bear is an energetic boy ,his new owners would need to be fit and active.

We are seeking a “QUIET HOME “where a person/persons are at home all day,to focus on Bear,to settle him in with lots of time, reassurance to help him overcome his separation anxiety.(Note this is not an instant fix)

Doodle Aid requires a home with children ages“10 AND OVER “ ,good with children but tends to prefer older children. He lives with a small child in his home ,who sometimes does not understand Bear does not like to be over handled.Bear tolerates the toddler in his home.

TO BE THE ONLY DOG IN THE HOME ( Bear is good with other dogs out and about on his walks, but in the home it would be too much for him)can be a bit taken back by larger dogs whilst out.

Bear lives with a cat ,so if his new owners are happy to introduce him to their cat in a responsible manner ,we are happy to consider rehoming him with a cat.

We require a safe secure garden, not communal please.

If your planning any holidays in the future please state on your application form

Bear would “NOT” cope being kennelled whilst your are going on your holiday, or for any other reason.

If you’re planning holidays now ,or in the future , thinking of using kennels for him ,this is “NOT”the dog for you.

Storm : Now adopted

Please do read this advert very carefully before applying for Storm.

Storm is located in Kent Postcode area ME4,the potential adoptee will be required to make several meet and greets.

We here at Doodle Aid believe it’s unfair to just take a dog ,without getting to know them,be it even for a short time.

The match has to be perfect for all parties involved, this is why we put several meet and greets in place.

Storm has been in a wonderful foster home since August, and has been very much loved and has been part of their family.

Whilst in her foster home Storm was spayed, under contract with us,and all went without any issues ,she has made a remarkable recovery.

No other known health issues ,at the time being vet checked in foster care.

Has attended a professional groomers ,whilst under Doodle Aids contract.

She does suffer with separation anxiety, this is something her new owners would need to help her overcome slowly, with time, care and patience.(Note this is not an instant fix )

Storm is a truly wonderful girl ,whoever will be her new forever owners will be totally delighted with her.

One person will need to be at home with Storm, this is because as stated above she has separation anxiety.

Read more here about S.A https://www.battersea.org.uk/.../dog.../stressed-dog-care...

Book which may be of support with helping her S.A https://www.wob.com/en-gb/books/julie-naismith/be-right-back/9781999296605?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=20539253462&cq_con=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItMT_5Oy7gQMVIopQBh3TYwbPEAQYAiABEgLGVfD_BwE#GOR010640193

Our preference is Storm is an only dog ,but we may consider rehoming Storm with one similar sized dog,a calm older male (who is neutered).

We will rehome Storm with children ages 8 and above (note Storm is a large girl ,parents will need to be responsible with their children around Storm ,as with any dogs)

No cats as will chase

Storm would love her own garden, not communal please

If your planning a holiday please state on your application form

If you ask Storm to sit at the kerb to wait she will follow this command.

Her recall is good but can be improved, this is where some training might help.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION please do not let Storm off her lead until you have 101% trust with each other.

This can take a number of weeks or months,we cannot stress this enough as with all our rescue dogs.

We have seen recently in the media vast amount of dog attacks, and we would hate anything to happen to any of our rescue dogs ,if their recall is not up to scratch.

It’s one of the most important aspects of dog ownership, that a dog will come back when called to their owner.

Maggie was bought into the owners lives as a puppy ,and sadly has never experienced sharing her home with babies, toddlers or children. It’s been a complete shock to her system no doubt.

The twins have now started walking ,so for their safety Maggie is kept in the kitchen. The owners know this is not good for her well-being ,and came to us to find her a loving child free home.

She lives with a male rescue terrier cross ,whom she dislikes and there have been a number of incidents with the pair of them.

Louis : Now Adopted

Please read carefully before applying for this boy

Location Glasgow G32 area ,we would require the potential adoptees to make several meet and greets

Louis is looking for a new home due to his separation anxiety ,he can only be left for very short periods of time (maximum 15 minutes) needs persons willing to help him manage this, persons whom are at home all day to be with him.

This is a very good support book https://www.wob.com/en-gb/books/julie-naismith/be-right-back/9781999296605?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=19884734874&cq_con=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIg4yi36TXgAMVNItoCR0lcgbvEAQYAiABEgIQW_D_BwE#GOR010640193

Louis has a lovely temperament and is such a friendly, loyal and loving dog. He is also still very keen to learn and takes up training easily eg. His owners have just taught him to lie and rollover which he picked up in a week. He struggles with separation anxiety and some reactivity which we hope with good effort, time and training he can overcome more. Mr R : Now adopted

Please read carefully before considering to apply for this handsome boy.

Location Leicestershire LE16 postcode

The potential foster ,will need to be willing to travel several times to meet and greet.

Doodle Aid is seeking an experienced dog person/persons to foster with a view to adopt

Meet Mr R

Type Labradoodle

Chocolate coat

Age 9 months old

Not neutered ,will be under our terms and conditions when the time is right

Height 26 inches

Weight 36 Kilo’s

Up to date with vaccinations/flea/tick and wormer

Grooming Requirements

Mr R has a long wavy coat ,only sheds minimally all dogs shed some amount.

Dislikes his face, legs and stomach being brushed.

Attends a professional dog groomer every 8 weeks

Exercise Regime

Mr R gets walked for 30 minutes three times daily

He does go off lead but only in a safe and secure area (Doodle Aid does not recommend taking Mr R off lead until you have complete trust in each other )

His recall is good ,but if distracted by another dog ,he may not be so quick to come back.

Mr R can pull on his lead occasionally, would benefit with some loose lead training put into place.

General Information

Mr R is your typical fun loving, goofball of a doodle,he is bouncy, loves his cuddles, does love attention if he does not get the attention ,he gets frustrated ,likes to be trained which is a bonus, when over excited he likes to do zoomies.

When Mr R was a small puppy, he tended to mouth quite a lot, when frustrated he will still do this from time to time.

He attended puppy training classes and advanced puppy trading classes.

Mr R is toilet trained, but as with any rescue dog coming into a new home please expect the unexpected.

He sleeps in the kitchen in his crate, but the door is left open.

Mr R likes to have access to his crate ,and takes his chew in there with him.

Mr R has be known to chew the childrens hard plastic toys, but has never chewed any furniture in the home.

Can only be left for short periods of time, maximum 60 minutes (this again is something that can easily be worked on in time)

Travels well in the car we suggest in a car harness or behind a dog guard.

Dislikes Thunder

He likes water and in the past attended hydrotherapy

Likes to play hide his kong ,and really enjoys one to one training.

We are looking for a home with persons willing to help guide this fabulous boy.

He craves attention and if he does not get it he gets frustrated, will bark until you give into him.

Moving Mr R out of his current environment may even improve this behaviour.

This is something that needs addressing,Doodle Aid is always happy to find a highly qualified dog behaviourist to give the fosters support if required.

He has not been left for long periods of time ,the most around a hour ,so this is something that needs considering before you apply to foster.

This boy is highly intelligent, willing to learn, loves to be stimulated but he will also need to learn to have some rest time.

This is something he maybe lacking in ,where he gets so aroused at times ,does not know when to chill and relax.

A nice calm home with calm people may make a lot of difference, this will not be instant as all rescue dogs need time to settle.

His owners love him dearly and have not come to this decision rapidly,it has not been easy for any of them.

Working from home with a gorgeous puppy, that wants your full attention I can imagine is not easy.

As stated above he will bark, and if you are trying to work ,take calls or zoom meetings etc, this can become a major issue.

They have had him checked over by their vets fully to see if there’s any pain issues or anything they may of missed.

They have also been working with a dog trainer and a behaviourist.

With a busy household, the adults trying to work, two small children it has become all too much, and his owners feel he would benefit in being in a different environment.

Doodle Aid would like to find a match with an older calmer dog,of similar size ,female must be spayed.

This would take several visits to make sure the dogs will respond well with each other.

Because of this puppy mouthing ,we will only place him in a home with respectful children who are dog savvy, over the age of 12.

Never lived with a cat ,so we cannot comment on how he would receive a cat

Must have a safe secure garden not communal

If you have any day trips planned, weekends away or any hoildays please state on your application form.

Doodle Aid will supply the support a foster requires, but you need to communicate with us so we can help.

Vets, groomers, food, dog trainers can all be supplied by us,all we ask is for you to give this boy the chance he so deserves.

We are sure in the right home, with the right people, with a doggy companion he will become a less frustrated boy as he reaches adulthood.

A foster or fosters will gain the benefit of seeing this puppy become a great dog, with guidance and team work going forward but they will need to be committed to helping him.

All potential applications will be subjected to a full homecheck.

If you live in rented accommodation ,we will require written proof that a dog can live in your accommodation.

Doodle Aid volunteers give their time for free, if you send an email they may not respond that day.

Once you see applications closed, everyone will be contacted in due course, please be patient with us.

Thank you

He is quite a chilled out dog ,happily just sleep when he is settle.

Bea is a resource guarder will take items that are of interest to him,his owners have learned to manage this behaviour ,by either distracting or ignoring.

Resource guarding can be managed so,please do not let this put you off this wonderful boy.

We are told Bea is a bright boy,he likes to learn and is very intelligent, picks up things very quickly.

He can be bossy with the female dogs in the household ,but gets along with his Brother Monty.

Bea did attend training classes when a puppy.

The owners feel Bea would benefit with more socialisation ,as this is what they struggle with ,as so many dogs.

A lot of Bea’s behaviour issues are believed to get more attention, but living in a multi dog household it’s difficult.

He is generally a well behaved dog,but on the occasion he will bark at other dogs mainly females.

Bea still jumps up and this will need some addressing ,the owners know this and it’s something they have been working on.

Bea is toilet trained, but always expect the unexpected with any rescue dogs entering a new and strange environment.

Bea sleeps in a crate at night with his Brother Monty.

Can be left for short periods of time,Doodle Aid recommends no more than 3 hours per day.Dogs are social creatures and thrive on human company, rescue dogs also need support to settle in a new home.
