Introducing Chester

Chester is located in Berkshire Post Code area RG45

NOTE the potential applicant will be requested to travel to carry out as many meet and greets as requested.

Chester is a much cherished part of his current owners family,it’s been very had for them to contact a rescue,seeking our assistance to rehome him

His family have had many changes of circumstances within their lives,work commitments,babies and children needing their undivided attention

This has meant Chester needs have lacked slightly in recent months

Chester requires more than they can give him ,and would like us to find him special people to love and care for him for the rest of his life

Our requirements for rehoming Chester

Most important people that are fit & active ,enjoy the outdoor life ,to give Chester more walks,more stimulation than he is currently getting at present

Chester would love to try agility,or even some scent work and a bit of extra training never goes a miss

No full time workers ,Chester can only be left 1 to 2 hours per day,he doesn’t not settle well if left longer

He will pace and bark waiting for you to come home ,the chap just loves human company

Chester was purchased during Covid,so this might be accountable for his charm for human attention

We will consider rehoming him with ONE other dog,but you must be prepared to follow our meet and greet process

Or he is happy to be an only dog in the household

Chester lives with children ,but we are looking to rehome him with children 10 and over,think he would like a more relax environment

He does tend to jump so may knock little people over accidentally

No cats please

Your garden must be very secure,gates must have locks

If you have a deep pond we request it is covered

Check you have no toxic plants or vegetables

Heath :- Chester snapped his Dew claw off but no issues from that, it just grew back

Had one or two ear infections but other than that he is in very good health

No known allergies

Grooming Requirements

Chester has soft wavy coat ,only sheds minimally,as all dogs shed some amount

He does not mind being brushed at home ,we recommend every few days

Chester attends a professional groomers every 7 to 8 weeks and is very well behaved at the salon

Exercise

Chester has two walks per ,day he so loves going out for his exercise

He may pull on his walks,owners use a Halti,you may like to swap this first a comfortable harness later

His recall is adverse could do with some training in this de parent,he can get easily distracted whilst out and about

As a responsible charity ,we do not recommend allowing any newly rescued dog off lead,until such times he or she has the confidence and trust to come back to you

Chester interacts with dogs very well,but does a bit deaf when being called back as he is having so much fun

As we know not all dogs are friendly ,so do keep control of him at all times,training yourself to train him ,would be perfect bonding

Chester is very food motivated ,thus being good for all his training purposes

Further Information

Chester is lively and bouncy but calms down after people come into his home

Owners have tried hard to prevent him jumping up ,and he is pretty good but always needs some distraction in this department

He is a very loving, cuddly dog ,although he is not allowed on the furniture , he will cuddle up to you on the floor

Chester likes to lick his humans,not all humans react well to this ,but we thought we we just highlight this,as doodle beards can be lovely ,even if you do not appreciate it

Chester is a very affectionate boy and very soppy in his character

He has never shown any aggressive behaviour or bitten

Chesters quirks ,he lays on the floor ,when he sees another dog, and then pounces in a playful way

He does run as fast as he can when he sees people ,which can be a bit a intimidating ,his owners do put him back on a lead when walking in the woods ,especially if they see children ,as they wouldn't want him to accidently knock them over.

Chesters is quite well socialised, however as he is very bouncy and loves to steal food and drink any drinks, ownersdo have to lock him out the room ,when people come over

They do not take him to other peoples houses because you need eyes in the back of your head,as a food and drink thief (more training and keeping edibles out of reach of Chester’s reach is a must)

You must not leave any food about and you must have a dog proof bin

Owners think he got sick from chicken ,but could have been something he ate from the bins

Chester is toilet trained, but we always like to state accidents may occur with any dog entering a new environment

Never been destructive in his home

Chester is not crate trained

Car travel ;- fair traveller,however he hasnt been in the car that often but does moan a little bit but will settle down

We think again if it was a more regular thing ,he would be fine with more journeys and confidence it’s ok to travel

Unknown if Chester can swim,he has never tried

Favourite games and toys ;- Any play time activities. He likes it when you throw a ball and he brings it back

His owners really just want him to go to a loving home where is wanted and treated with love and care ,which is really what he deserves as he is a lovely dog.

All potential applicants will be requested to have a full vetting and a visual home check

If you live in rented accommodation we will require documentation that a dog can live in this property

There is an adoption fee of £350.00 ,this will go back into the charity
