Mabel is a dearly loved member of her family, but sadly the dynamics in the household have change.
When a new baby arrived Mabel’s behaviour started to change, baby is now finding their own feet ,and Mabel’s coping mechanism is not doing so good with a moving toddler
Mabel grew up with her Mummy and Daddy for many years, then this little person came along into her world things changed for her
The attention was for Mabel throughout her life and she does love the whole attention to be on her ,and she is not sure how to handle certain situations
Sadly dogs do not understand why this has happened, and baby does not understand how to behave around Maple.
It’s become so hard for the family ,and they feel Mabel needs a home with people that can give Maple the attention she so deserves.
The behaviour that Maple shows is non aggressive ,but she feels protective whilst on the sofa and the baby comes towards her,and her humans are on the sofa too.
It’s like she is trying to reach out to protect them from their baby ,and wants the attention to be on her
Mabel will full on run at the baby and then just licks her face ,her owners are worried about this sort of behaviour so close to their child
Possibly some mixed in resource guarding of her parents and the spaces
If her parents are alone with Mabel this does not occur
As stated Mabel is non aggressive, never bitten just very ill at ease now the baby has joined the family
If you know Cavapoo’s they can be very anxious little dogs, some can be very nervous and on alert, and need reassuring and help in some situations
Mabel will bark from time to time ,so is noise reactive, like whilst she is looking out of windows in her home, management will be the key with her barking
Mabel can be very shy on meeting and greeting,a few barks which is her way of coping, but once she gets to know you ,she will melt your hearts.
She really does adore her adults in her home, loves cuddles, loves any attention and once she gets into your heart she will quite happily sit on your lap and give you lots of love
When she was a puppy she suffered from seperation anxiety for the first few years, she was bought up in covid times when people weren’t leaving the house as much ,and owners worked from home. Her owners still homework so she is not left daily ,but they started building up times she is left, and is now able to be left for a number of hours ,but mostly gets left for 1/2 hours, she will wait at the window until your back and excited greet you when home with barking.
Mabel loves to cuddle on the sofa and enjoys relaxing whilst her owners work from home all day, will sleep the day away given the chance , if in a nice quiet household

Lead control and pulling :- yes Mabel can pull on her lead , especially at start and end of the walk, as shes a light dog do not notice on the lead too much
Interaction with other dogs :- Mabel is sociable when out and about on her walk, well mannered around other dogs. Will say hi if allowed ,has a quick sniff and happy to walk on, will walk past without if direct too. Not bothered about actually playing and will take a step back if dog is too full on

Car travel :-Mabel is a little nervous as she pants , no barking, moving around etc sits in her bed with a lead clipped in the seatbelt
Mabel has never swam, not sure how she likes water
Favourite games and toys :- Licky mat/snuffle mat (they are really good when someone is coming into the home to help her settle) balls and any toy but she is a vocal player and she doesnt drop/leave the toys until shes ready, sometimes will try and snatch the toy when you go to grab (never made any contact)
Note from Mabel’s owners
She is a really loved dog and we are absolutely devastated to be having to look to rehome mabel but I do think that she would be happier in an adult only home, she is finding family life too stressful and is spending a lot of her day barking and fighting for attention and feeling like she needs to guard us. I have been very honest and know she isn't a perfect dog with some issues but she has lived happily with us for over 4 years and any guarding hasn't been an issue as this is easier to manage in an adult only house, she will happily have a high value treat if she's left to enjoy and be no issue but she will be loyal and protect her owners from anything she feels is a threat
If you live in rented accommodation we will request documentation, that a dog can live in your home
All potential applicants will be required to have a full vetting and homecheck
The adoption fee for Mabel is £200.00
