Radiant Rafa is Looking For His Forever Home
Please do read all the following information fully, before applying.
If you do not match Rafa’s criteria do not apply ,thank you
Rafa is located in West Sussex
You will be expected to travel,to carry out some meet and greets ,we ask for several so the dog in question ,can get acquainted with you all
Rafa is a dearly loved family member ,but sadly the dynamics in his home have change
Rafa lives in a multi dog household, and he is finding it difficult to slot into place with the two other dogs in his home.
His owner feels Rafa needs to be an only dog, whereby he gets all the attention he so needs.
The other two dogs in the home are bonded and Rafa is the odd one out, bless his furry paws
Doodle Aids Requirements
We like a home with people at home most of the time
You are welcome to apply,if you work from home;just as long as you fit time gaps in for Rafa’s care
We will not rehome Rafa with another dog
He can live with children aged 12 and over(this is because he is a bouncy boy)
No cats
If you have any holidays planned ,please state on your application form
Meet Rafa
Type Australian Labradoodle
Colour Chocolate /Grey
Born July 2019
He is neutered
Microchipped checked
Height 45 cms
Weight 14 Kgs
Booster vaccination due November 2026
Flea and tick treatment administered February 2026
Worming treatment given December2025
Health :- Rafa does suffer with allergies ,he has seen a dermatologist but there has been no certain diagnosis
He was on a drug called apoquel ,this did not show much improvement,he also had injections of cytopoint ,these also did not improve his situation.
Now Rafa is on a small daily dose of prednisolone, which seems to be helping his allergies.
These drugs cost between 7p or 10p per each tablet based on 5 mg
Rafa has been diagnosed with Pancreatitis ,this means he must be kept on a low fat diet at all times, treats must also be low fat.
If you do not stick to his diet it may cause a pancreatic flare ,which is very painful for the dog,and will require vet treatment
Do not give him carrots ,these seem to be an allergy trigger
Grooming
Rafa has a beautiful soft wavy coat, only sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount
He is brushed and combed regularly at home, dislikes his paws being groomed
Attends a Professional Groomers every 8 to 12 weeks
Exercise
Rafa loves going for his walks, happy to have a few walks per day
His recall is good ,unless he see’s fast moving vehicles ,such as bikes and scooters
We do advise allow Rafa to get to know you first ,never allow him off lead unless you have complete trust in one another
Rafa is walked on a collar ,lead & halti ,he doesn’t not normally pull whilst being walked
Because Rafa likes all the attention on him ,he sometimes gets jealous around some other dogs
He has attended doggy day care in the past ,and coped well with the other dogs
Rafa also attended an agility group ,when he was younger, this might be something his new owner might consider trying with Rafa
Behaviour :- Every dog is unique, with their own quirks, delights, and even their own challenges. Learn how to read your dog's body language and understand their behaviours.
Rafa’s own quirks are as follows :-
-biggest issue is his scavenging
- whinnying and may bark
- ball obsessed (will get protective over his ball)
-May resource guard his food (this should improve ,when he becomes an only dog)
-destroys toys and cushions
Further information
Rafa is a great boy, loves attention from humans ,he can still get very excited and start acting like a goof ball ,non aggressive and loves a cuddle
This boy just loves his food ,great for training, but be aware he is a scavenger
Rafa is a well socialised dog ,he is good in the pub, going out and about just as long he knows he has your full attention.
Rafa is toilet trained, but as we state on all our adverts, accidents may occur with any dogs whilst settling into a new home
Rafa used to sleep in the kitchen, but now is sleeping in the bedroom
This boy just loves the water ,he likes the sea and paddling in rivers
Has used a dog crate in the past ,whilst living with the other dogs in the family
Being an only dog,an only dog he would not need to be crated
Travels well in the car, either on the back seat or in the boot
Likes to play ball and tug
Dislikes fast moving vehicles such as motorbikes, bikes and scooters
No issues with fireworks
Rafa has a pet passport and has travel many times abroad
A note from his owner -: They would love to see him settled in a home, where he does not have to share things with other dogs in the home.
Where Rafa can unstress and feel secure in a home ,where he will get all the love and attention he so requires.
Potential homes will be fully vetted and homechecks will be required
