Meet Ozzy

Background

Ozzy is looking for his new home due to Ozzy requiring persons to be home with him 99% of the time. Ozzy suffers with separation anxiety which is making it very difficult for his current owner to manage him as they have health issues of their own.

They have been working on managing the situation and can now leave him for 10 minutes only. Obviously this is not ideal, his new owners would need to continue with helping him cope with being home alone, baby steps to help manage him.

Other than this issue Ozzy is a fabulous boy and once he gains confidence in being left for short periods he will much more relaxed, knowing his owners do come back.

Ozzy was purchased via the internet when he was about 1.5 years old, his current owner was not aware of his separation anxiety issues when she purchased him. He has come along way with his owners care, love and guidance.

Ozzy has never shown any aggressive behaviour and has never bitten.

Requirements

Persons at home; this is a must as he needs support with his separation issues. Read more about separation anxiety here.

Would 100% benefit from attending training classes.

Can be nervous to start with around the male sex but once he gains your trust he is fine. Children aged 10 and over.

Can live with another dog but you need to be prepared to travel for meet and greets. Can live with a cat so long as introductions are supervised.

You must have a safe and secure garden, if you have gates they must have a lock.

Exercise

His owners used to manage to walk him but sadly with restricted health issue's from his owners, Ozzy is having his playtimes now in the garden.

His recall needs some working on, we do not recommend his new owners allowing him off lead until you have worked on his recall further.

Ozzy sometimes pulls on his lead, more so when distracted.

Whilst out he wants to interact with other dogs, enjoys playing with other dogs.

His general obedience is fair to good ,better indoors than outdoors.

From the owner

He is the best boy ever, could not ask for a better behaved dog indoors. They do feel he will benefit with more than a single person at home, or maybe another dog as company.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes: Ball launcher is his favourite, any games ropes, balls.

Dislikes: Owner states they have not found anything he is scared of other than only being on his own.

Ozzy has a soft wavy coat, only sheds minimally, as all dogs shed some amount.

He is brushed every other day by his owner at home and bathed when required.

He attends a professional groomers every 3 months.

Ozzy has no issues with being groomed.

Ozzy did not have the greatest start in life before he came to his current owners care.

His current owner has worked so hard on many aspects, giving him more confidence, helping him with some training. He was very under weight and his fur not in a good state, now he has gained weight and has a super coat.

Ozzy is highly intelligent and in the right home with people willing to put in more training, he will be the perfect family pet.

Ozzy is house trained, he rings a button when he requires to go outside to the toilet.

Note any dogs can have accidents in a new home, so please allow for any issues whilst settling.

Ozzy used to use a crate, but he now does not require a crate anymore.

He sleeps either in the lounge in his bed or in his owners bedroom, again in his own bed.

As stated he can only be left home alone for 10 minutes at the moment, this needs so patience and guidance.

Ozzy has never been destructive in his home.

Loves travelling in the car, but he must be able to look out the windows.

He has never been swimming, but does not mind the water.
