Meet Fender

Background

Fender is the most handsome young boy with so much to offer his new owners. He may need a few adjustments on training, by only using kind training methods please.

Fenders family contacted us because they feel they cannot give Fender all the things he needs in his life. Of course they give him the love care and attention but he needs more. His home is a very busy environment with two young children who are both on the spectrum and they can be quite needy, as well as the other dogs in the household. The children adore Fender and Fender is very good around them also. Fender is a large boy and sometimes he can get over excited and jump up in a playful manner, we will not rehome him with younger children.

Fender can pull on his “lead”, this mostly happens when his human Mummy walks him, as he is not keen on other dogs coming near her, will give a bark or two. Much better off his lead with other dog's.

This lovely boy was produced in this home, his family own Fenders Mummy, but not this Father whom is a Standard Poodle.

Fender lives with two other dogs his Mother an Old English Sheep Dog and a much older little doggie.

Fender would need to take his meals away from other dogs, as he tends to resource guard his food, the other dogs in his home do the same with their food.

Requirements

His new person or persons must be actively fit as he is an energetic large boy and will need regular exercise and some extra training.

Fender would not suit full time workers (away from home), but he would suit homemakers, homeworkers, or active retired people.

Fender can be left short periods a few hours any longer he gets up to a bit of mischievous behaviour like bin raiding, he also can counter surf given the chance and pinch socks.

We will consider rehoming Fender with another calm spayed or neutered dog (but you must be prepared to do as many meet and greets as requested by us). Fender can also be rehomed as an only dog in the household. No cats.

Children ONLY 12 and over please, if you have visiting small children you must supervise as he may knock little people over accidentally.

No showboating Fender the first week or so, allow him to settle in your home with you and your people in your environment first.

You must have a fully secure garden, with locks on any gates.

Exercise

Fender is walked twice a day and loves his exercise.

His recall is good, but we do stress with any newly adopted dog. DO NOT allow them off lead unless you have full control and confidence they will come back.

Interaction with other dogs whilst out, will bark when on his lead and better when off lead. Can pull on his lead sometimes, would benefit with some loose lead training.

Fenders obedience is fair and he is fairly well socialised. Never bitten or been aggressive to humans or other animals.

Fender has a lovely soft curly coat, sheds slightly as all dogs shed some amount.

He is home groomed and has no issues with being groomed, we recommended a full groom every 6 to 8 weeks.

Fender is toilet trained, but we always state any dog can have an accident until settled.

Fender sleeps in the kitchen at night.

Not crate trained.

Travels well in the car in the boot.

Loves the seaside but has never swam.

His favourite item is his tennis ball.

We cannot stress enough this beautiful boy is dearly loved by his owners and they really do want the best life for their gorgeous boy.
