Honey needs a special foster home, with a view adopt.
No Full Time Workers
Secure garden needed
Meet Honey
We would expect the fosters to travel and carry out several meet and greets ( this is to get Honey aquianted with you )
Background
Honey is a much loved family member,is totally adored especially by her human Mummy.
Sadly Honey's human Mummy, has been very poorly, and Honey cannot understand what has happened.
This is making Honey very anxious ,around her human Mummy.
Her human Mummy was her main care person at home, looking after Honey's daily needs.
This has now become impossible due to ill health .
Honey needs our help to find a lovely foster home, who can give her the care and love she so needs for her future.
This is such a sensitive time for everyone involved, and we need to make this as smooth as possible.Thank you

Meet Honey
Type Cockapoo
Born October 2023
Honey is spayed
Colour Golden/ Honey
Height 15 inches
Weight 8.5 kgs
Vaccination booster is due
Up to date with flea/tick and worming treatment
Diet
Butchers wet food trays, sensitive due to Honeys preference only ,and not due to a real sensitivity ,she also loves carrots, peppers and eggs.Owners top her meals with variety of veg
Exercise
Honey is walked for at least 30 mins 2-3 times per day. Owners have a secure garden ,so she is able to get out and play freely when she likes for exercise. Goes for longer walks up to 5 miles once or twice a week
Her recall is good ,but can be distracted with noise or other animals, always happy to come back for a treat
NOTE :- whilst any dog is under foster care, please do not allow them off lead.
We prefer you to use a dog hired paddock,or a long training lead
( this is due to safety reasons, a dog could run off or another dog could harm another dog)
Honey will only pull on her lead, when shes in a hurry to get to the toilet ,or if she sees another dog she wants to interact with - sometimes pulls towards birds ,when they are on the ground but easy to control.
Honey is generally fine when out walking ,more interested in sniffing and getting on her way. she doesnt react to traffic but is curious when other dogs pass
Dog interaction -: sometimes she doesnt react or notice at all ,other times she is very curious and will bark hello and want us to take her over to interact.A family member has a cockapoo and it comes to their house several times a week ,to visit honey and play they just run around and have fun.
General Obedience
very good, she knows a number of commands such as sit, stay, wait, paw, please (she sits back and holds her paw in the air) go to bed, treat, walk, play she knows the family members names and if you say the name she will go and find them in the house, or sit by the window to wait for them coming home.
Honey attended training classes ,but not since last year - she got on very well and passed ,the class trainer was happy with her progress no concerns at all
Honey is a lively, bouncy, friendly affectionate dog. She can be a little nervous and can bark when the postman comes, but she quickly settles, its often because she wants to see who is there and get their attention. She has been very anxious around her human Mummy lately ,but thats directly related to the change in circumstances explained above
Honey is a sweet natured girl, has zero aggression and has never gone to bite
With people -: great she is very friendly, rambunctious and loving and often rushes to greet people ,wants a scratch on the head or rolls right over for a belly rub regardless of where we are and what the person is doing. shes very charming. She can be quite excited at first then settles right down and will want to lie right beside the person
With Children -: Good lives with older children ,has visiting children who she likes to play ball with in her garden
Socialisation -: Fairly good ,a little less so over the last few months as human Mummy has been unwell ,but prior to this she would be out at cafes with her humans ,at dog parks meeting other dogs ,people out on walks ,all over the place. Her humans parents have not been able to do that as much ,the last couple of months but prior to this yes she was very well socialised.
Honey travels well in the car,on the back seat in a dog safety seatbelt/restrain
Honey is toilet trained, but as stated on all adverts,a dog might have an accident whist settling in a new home
Honey is crate trained, happy to sleep in her crate out of her choice (crate door can be left open)
If home alone she goes to her crate
Non destructive in her home
When Honey goes to the beach she just splashes at the shore ,has never gone right in for a swim
Favourite games or toys -: fetch, playing with a ball, her favourite toys are stuffed toys she loves hide and seek games, snuffle toys to sniff out treats, and football
Personality traits -: She loves socks, she will often steal and stash them. she used to nibble them when she was a pup but now she just cuddles up to a pair of socks when shes sleeping (we find them under her) She does not love the hoover and will either have a bark at it or run up to bed. She will bark at very loud noises but quickly settles (think shes just letting her owners know there's something going on)
Note from her lovely owners :- We are in quite a difficult situation as my wife is still going through lots of medical treatments ,we have healthcare professionals involved, and we are really struggling to manage with the Honey. If possible could our case be prioritised.
Doodle Aid promises to make this our priority, and to find the most lovely caring fosters for their Honey
If you live in a rented property,we will ask for documentation that a dog can live in this home
The potential applicant we will ask for a full homecheck ,and vetting before any fostering takes place
Honey has a coat that only minimally sheds, all dogs shed some amount.
Her coat is soft and silky, with tighter curls on ears/head
Honey does not mind being groomed at home.
She attends a Proffesional Groomers every 8 weeks
