Meet Bruno

Foster with a view to adopt
We would expect the fosters to travel and carry out several meet and greets
We have been honoured to be asked to help Bruno, his owners dearly love him,but sadly this boy just grew and grew and he does not know his own strength. He is a gentle giant but sometimes he accidently knocks the little child over, not doing any damage ,but he is like a bull in a china shop at times
Also when visitors arrive at the owners home,he gets all dizzy ,over excited and jumps up
With the dynamics in the family, and a baby on the way ,his family feel ,he would be better suited in a calm, quiet home.Bruno would love more room,a big garden ,and with people willing to love ,support and manage his lifetime of care

This very handsome boy needs a foster home ,who are willing to help manage and monitor his everyday needs
Doodle Aid will require the foster ,to be happy to take Bruno for a full vet check once he is settle in their home.
We will pay all vet invoices,if advised to have hydrotherapy we will also pay for this treatment
Anything to help Bruno manage his HD whilst in foster care we are here for support

Please note Bruno's insurance policy is not transferable to new owners
Doodle Aids Requirements
A foster home willing to give 100% to Bruno at all times,to follow some basic management ,from us and the vets
Must be fit and active ,as Bruno is classed as large breed even though he is not a breed ,we know he is a crossbreed

Will consider a home with ONE calm older,neutered/spayed dog
( if living with another dog ,please be aware of gentle play only)
Or happy to be an only dog

Children ONLY aged 10 and over ( Bruno may knock smaller children over accidently )If you are planning to adopt and thinking of having a family in the future ,this is not the dog for you, sorry

Exercise
Bruno does enjoy two walks per day ( please see our advice in the notes above, relating to exercise)
His recall is generally good if not distracted ( note Doodle Aid does not allow any of our foster dogs off lead, unless in a private hired dog paddock)
Bruno may pull on his lead ,if he happens to see a squirrel
Non reactive around traffic and noises whilst walking
His interaction around other dogs ,absolutely fine,he loves other dogs
Some dogs bark at him, maybe because of his sheer size
Doodle Aid will fully support Bruno and his foster parents ,but you must interact with us at least once a week

Bruno has a curly minimium shedding coat ,all dogs shed some amount
Not overly keen at being groomed at home, but will allow you to continue if you have some treats at hand
Bruno is professionally groomed every 6 weeks,no issues at his groomers

Bruno is a fun loving ,big gentle goofball, sometimes he doesnt know how big he is,a right cuddle monster, loves people sometimes a bit too much ,does not have an aggresive bone in his body.
Everyone that meets Bruno falls in love with him
He is very well socialised and a well balanced dog ,just sometimes gets excited
Bruno is toilet trained ,but as we state on all adverts accidents may occur whilst a dog settles into the home
He is crate trained ,happy to go into his crate as and when required
At night Bruno sleeps where he feels is comfortable in his home
He can be left a few hours per day,if out more than a few hours ,he happily goes into his crate
Doodle Aid will not accept anyone who will leave a dog more than 4 hours per day ,dogs are social creatures and need company
Bruno is non destructive in his home
Never has swam, but does like to paddle in steams
Travels well in the car in the boot
Favourite game tug of war with his toy
Bruno is fine with noises and fireworks.Does like to steal the odd socks,so please make sure they are put away.Never counter surfed or stolen any food off the table.Bruno gets very excited if going to cafe's or public houses ,might need some gentle training
If you live in rented accommadation, we will require documentation that a dog can live in this property
The potential home will be fully vetted ,with a complete visual homecheck carried out by a Trustee
We really want to give Bruno a great life as he so deserves the best,he is such a great lad

Bruno has been diagnosed with MILD Bilateral Hip Dysplasia, this is a condition where both hip joints develop abnormally, causing joint laxity, sometimes pain ,and in later life may cause arthritis.
It does not effect his daily life ,not on any medication only a supplement of Yumove
Management will play a vital role in Bruno's life, weight control,a good diet ,a lean weight is crucial to reducing joint stress
No high impact exercise ,try to limit jumping on and off beds & sofa's or jumping high into car boots
Stairgate is advisable if sleeping upstairs ,only allow limited access
No ball games as he could twist whilst fetching
Avoid rough play with other dog, gentle supervised play only
Opt for shorter, gentle more frequent walks ,grass or sand is much kinder for a dog with HD
If you live in a home that has laminate, wooden or tiled floors we request runners are put in place (happy to supply these).

Also his owners believe chicken should be avoided in his diet,as may cause an allergy
