Background
You will be expected to travel,to carry out several meet and greets ,we ask for this so the dog in question ,can get acquainted with you all
Reggie is dearly loved by his current owners, and they have really struggled coming to terms with deciding to rehome Reggie
At around six months of age Reggie started guarding his own toys and long lasting treats,if the family approached him ,or take them ,he would react,by snapping
Reggie has snapped and caught his owners a few times,no marks or puncture wounds
His behaviour advanced after his owners went away,he was looked after at home but went on group dog walks
Little Reggie also suffers with noise reactivity, when things get loud in his vicinity and he reacts by guarding rooms, spaces and sometimes the adults in the home
As good owners the family have sought professional help with a behaviourist ,and have been following the programme given by them. When the behaviourist fist came to the home,Reggie was anxious ,he showed appeasing behaviours ,which the behaviourist stated was no threat
Once Reggie is settled into a foster home,Doodle Aid will happily support Reggie and his fosters by supplying a reputable behaviourist
He has attended training classes ,achieving puppy training foundation level,
and narrowly missed his bronze KC level ,as he struggled with the one minute sit and stay
Doodle Aids Requirements

A quiet calm home this is really important, for Reggie’s wellbeing

You would need to be physically fit and active for Reggie’s needs

No full time workers , if you work from home ,you would need time to fit in around Reggie ‘s needs
Walking,training ,vets appointments,groomers etc
If you are considering to adopt Reggie, have young children visit or planning a family he is not the dog for you sorry
Reggie’s needs need to be priority please

Dog free home only

Preference an Adult home only ,may consider a home with much older children 13 plus whom are dog savvy

No cats
A safe and secure garden,Reggie loves a garden to explore and play in

If you have any day trips or holidays planned please state on your application form
Exercise
Reggie has two walks per day lasting around 45 minutes per session
Reggie is only let off lead in a secure area ,his recall is fair to good ( always room for improvement)
With any foster dogs we do not allow them off lead, unless in a pre paid doggy paddock
Reggie will try to pull on a long lead,on a shorter lead he is much more controlled
Please do allow him to sniff and snort areas ,whilst walking as he enjoys the aromas
Reggie is not traffic reactive ,not shown any issues with noises whilst out
Interaction with other dogs whilst out,if he is intimidated by another dog ,mostly larger dogs,he will react ,but growling and letting them know he is here
On the whole he is mostly fine with other dogs
Obedience - Reggie loves to learn, likes to be kept active and stimulated
Reacts well to sit and leave it,and wait of course the treats wonders !

Reggie has a soft curly coat, only sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount
Reggie is fine to be groomed at honestly,as long as it’s a gentle brush
Attends a professional groomers every 4 to 6 weeks

Reggie is still only a very young dog,80 % of the time he shows no behavioural issues
He loves to play with his toys, his favourite thing is to be outside in the fresh air ,either out in the garden or on his walks
Unfortunately Reggie struggles with noises within his home ,with two young children it can be a loud place for him to manage his anxieties
The children are only being children, but it makes it hard for Reggie to cope when they play loudly,he takes himself off to hide under furniture ,and this is when he starts showing behaviour issues
He likes to be stroked on his tummy, and gets very excited when his owners come home
He does not like to be picked up or cuddled too much,he will move away or just like fuss on his terms
Reggie generally is great with people ,likes meeting them outside the home, never been aggressive to other people
It’s inside the home and around is family ,the noise can be too much to cope with for Reggie
Reggie is fairly well socialised whilst out,but we like his fosters to continue with his training going forward
He is toilet trained, but we always state with any dog entering a new and strange environment,be prepared for any incidents
Reggie sleeps under his owners bed at night
Can be left home alone for a few hours per day
Non destructive in his home
Loves to waddle in shallow water ,not sure if he like to swim
Favourite games and toys - loves playing ball or frisbee ,likes to play football
Fears ,habits, personality traits- Reggie is noise reactive in his home ,which switches on his induced anxiety behaviours.
These noises will include fireworks and loud noises
Reggie is work in progress which he needs time gentle, calm management
We believe in a quiet home ,with people willing to help support this little lad,he will improve, might take time and trust on all parties
He is only a very young g dog, with the rest of his life ahead of him and we love to see him more settled in a home he is happy to settle in without any anxiety
Doodle Aid will give as much support as required ,whilst Reggie is in foster care.
This will all be discussed further with his potential fosters
If you live in an rented accommodation we will require documentation, that a dog can live within this property
The potential fosters will be fully vetted, and we will request to carry out a full homecheck
