Peggy, an F1 Miniature Sheepadoodle, who is intelligent, affectionate, and very special. She was an important part of the family, even before the arrival of a baby in February 2024. The family had behaviourists help ensure Peggy was well-prepared for the changes that would come with the baby. However, Peggy's behaviour became more challenging after an anal gland rupture during a stay at in-laws' house, leading to pain and some aggression, including snapping directed at the other dog and toddler. Another behaviourist stepped in and created a plan to maintain a safe distance between Peggy and the toddler.
Unfortunately, an incident occurred where Peggy snapped after the toddler accidentally sat on her tail. This was a difficult and heartbreaking situation, and although your current behaviourist passed the matter to a specialist, there’s no guarantee it won’t happen again. With a growing family (including a baby due in May 2026), the owner felt that keeping Peggy in the house was unsafe and unfair to everyone involved; including Peggy
The family are facing immense stress, and while they’ve put in a lot of time, effort, and resources into training Peggy, they feel that she now needs a home where she can receive constant attention and care. The family are overwhelmed but are desperately seeking a solution that ensures Peggy’s future, while also ensuring their family’s well-being.
Peggy was purchased just before the lockdown started, so she would benefit with some gradual socialising.Peggy’s owners did what they could during the lockdown, but they do believe that this is the reason ,she has a lot of anxious traits.

When a puppy Giardia which cleared after treatment. Minor ear and anal sac ailments; all treated and cleared.

Other times, will pull toward dogs to sniff, her owner will keep this interaction brief.
Peggy lives with another small dog a Cavapoo (one year younger)
General obedience
Note from Peggy’s owner
Extremely clever! Her most endearing quality, that can also be a pain, is that she is always one step ahead of you which can mean that she can be naughty if bored or under stimulated. Will chew any bed given to her, so absolutely cannot have fluff stuffed beds!
She is very sheepdog in the sense that she loves to chase, and absolutely loves to be worked hard. Can do gundog style training where you can throw a ball and tell her to wait before fetching, so in the right hands can demonstrate amazing control and restraint. However, if she knows that you are someone who will not stick to the training she will happily ignore boundaries with certain people
Peggy can ring a bell to go for a wee. Can play a ukelele (command word is "touch"). Will go and get her bowl or an object and bring it back to you if you say "hand". On her first ever agility lesson, she was so excited she ran ahead of the trainer and I and did the whole circuit first time on her own with rapid speed! She can do "sit", "down", "rollover", "bang", "pretty", "spin", "back", "wait", all as spoken commands and with hand gestures only.
Peggy we are sure would love to partake in some activities be it scent work,or agility
Further information
Peggy will be the perfect pet for a family that love a challenge, have lots of space for her to run around and do not have babies or small children
Very lively and bouncy! training from day dot has always been to try and keep 4 paws on the floor, which is virtually impossible for her (she has a thing with getting as close to your face as possible) - extremely loving, but also likes to keep her distance from time to time as she can be quite wary of some loud noises/big personalities to begin with. Loves a good head or butt scratch, and if she really likes you belly rubs are a must and will produce the strangest happy noise haha!
She is a fun-loving, calmer in her older years, very talented dog with lots of amazon potential in the right hands!
Jumps up at people, wary of loud noises, but can be trained through this and loves classical music/ a den to hide away in and feel safe
Peggy is toilet trained,(rings a bell)but as we state with any dogs entering a new environment, accidents may occur
Little Peggy is an avid chewer of soft or fluffy objects
Peggy is crate trained gets herself into her crate for some chill time, also sleeps in her crate at night
She can swim but prefers not too
Favourite games and toys ,fetch particularly with gun-dog-style waiting.Likes food filled kongs or frozen treats.
Ball obsessed will not leave a ball alone once thrown!!! She would genuinely play fetch forever, so balls are an outside only thing (owner states)
Note from Peggy’s owner
She is genuinely such a lovely dog, and we get compliments wherever we go on how well behaved she is and how she pulls herself up so proper to really impress other people. She is such a pleaser and a hard worker and thrives when given jobs to do.
A much loved family member ,highly intelligent just needs to be loved and in the right environment
All potential homes will be fully vetted ,with a full homecheck in place
If you live in rented accommodation,we will require documentation that a dog can live in this property
Whilst Peggy is in foster care,Doodle Aid will supply food, pay expenses for vets, behaviourist and if further needs are required the fosters will let us know
Thank you
