Transporting

Goldendoodle dog in a car Goldendoodle dog in a car

Are you the right fit?

To transport a dog from the owner's home to another home, you need to be a confident and conscientious driver - a clean driving licence is preferred, although minor driving convictions may not necessarily stop you from volunteering. You should be willing to drive a range of distances, which may be out of your local area. Ensuring the vehicle is safe and legally roadworthy to drive.

You may be part of a chain of transport drivers if the dog needs to travel a great distance.

You’ll also need to be willing to handle and manage dogs and puppies using positive reinforcement methods and have suitable equipment in the car for transporting the dog, like a crate or a safety harness restraint.

DoodleAid will pay 25p per mile towards fuel.
